Two 10-packs of PMAGs came from DSG Arms today. I managed to order them during the magic time when they had free shipping on orders over $99 and the 10-packs were $79.00. 20 mags for $158 shipped.

I ordered 13 of these DH30HR-MP D&H Highlander Reduced Pattern 30rd 5.56/AR15 Magazines (left image below) from Wideners, and got 5 of the pastel green mags and 8 of the pale beige mags (right image below). Yes I paid too much for them. I guess this is what I get for this one occasion (Scout's Honor) of acting like a Tacticool Black Rifle Fashionista.

5-10 packs from Bullets.com came in today. After the initial online order was cancelled, I made a phone call and placed an order over the phone for 5-10 packs ( basically 50 loose mags in factory wrapper ) shipped for $8.50 each. Great buy. $424.95 to the door.

Well just wanted to let ya'll know, ordered 10 Troy battle mags on the 19th at midnight for $8.00, ordered 10 of them, the shipping was $7.00 so total $87.00, as I said ordered on the 19th and they are sitting here on the 23rd, so pretty good turn around, they shipped via USPS priority, so just as please as I was last week with my Bravo Company order that arrived in 3 days.

Three of my backorders from DSG have arrived with one more due in today,....really happy with DSG, I had also picked up a Geissle Trigger for my SCAR17 back in December, Good outfit, $19 shipping for 10 mags seemed excessive though...lol

My backordered M3 Pmags ordered at the beginning of the month arrived from DSG. Packaging wasn't great but all items were there.

Got my 5 Troy Mags from WesternSport and 3 PSA mags.
Never had Troy mags before this. A little disappointed in how easy it is to lock up the "anti-tilt" follower. Pretty much just need to push down on the front of it to lock it up. I'm guessing it wont be an issue with rounds in but still, not quite as confidence inspiring as the magpul followers where you can push on them wherever and they just go straight down. Outside of that, they fit my rifles fine and I like the look. I think I also prefer the texture that they have on them over the magpul mags. The PSA mags seem ok. They are dated 12/15 and have the gray magpul follower. The finish is much blotchier than the finish on the other PSA mags that I have (dated 12/13). Cant wait for my backordered Lancers to ship from DSG |

I ordered 10 D&H mags Sunday, 5/8. They were still processing 5/16, so I called and was told there was a delay on these mags. Later that day, I got a tracking number and they arrived at my doorstep today. For 7 bucks a mag I'm not too put off.
They're all marked 04/16 and came with Magpul gray followers. |

Spikes has Lancer translucent clear & smoke 20 & 30 round mags for $11.25 ea.
Mine just came in today. Not only is this about the best price I've seen on Lancers, only place not charging more for 20s, and only place that had the see thru smokes in 20s. $11 for UPS shipping, ordered on Tuesday, delivered on Friday. |

Got half of my order from Botach, so 10 mags came today. 10 more expected. Shipping took a while.

Finally got a few purple Lancers for the collection. As discussed elsewhere, I’m not sure why these colors are appealing, but I guess it’s fun not to take things too seriously sometimes. I’m hoping for translucent OD green and orange in the future.
Attached File In case anyone is curious, here’s what the red Lancer floorplates look like. Definitely not a good match. I may drop them in some red RIT dye eventually, just for fun. Attached File |

Continuing my theme of posting useless and probably only marginally interesting info about magazines, I got a couple orders of tan Okay Surefeeds from GMW and Botach in the last two weeks. I noticed that since the original release of these, they switched to using tan baseplates like the E2 mags. The tan Teflon coating is also lighter, closer to FDE. Comparing the two regular Surefeeds to an E2, the Teflon coating on the E2 is much more glossy, while the regular mags are kind of a satin finish. I’m not surprised by the color variations, but I would have thought they’d use the same finish on both types of mags.
Just because I like the look, I switch my standard tan surefeeds to the FDE Magpul followers from DSG (I have plenty of them to use up). I save the green followers for regular surplus Okays. Older Surefeed on the left, new one in the middle, and E2 on the right: Attached File Attached File |

Not too exciting, but last week I received what will be my last order from 44Mag.com, since they’re closing down, with a batch of Okay E2 mags (purchased a few of each color). I also stopped by a local police supply store and discovered that they sell Okay GI tan follower mags. They were priced at $9.99, which is nothing spectacular but matches what I’ve seen them for a shows. I just haven’t seen any for sale in a while, and I’ve never seen a local store selling them. I’ll probably stop by the store and pick some up every few weeks if they continue to stock them. They may just be a batch of surplus mags that they acquired somewhere.

Not sure - I sent them a note thanking them for their good service over the years but never heard anything back, and I didn’t specifically ask why they were closing. I got the impression from the announcement on their website that maybe they’re just ending online sales but still have a physical store.

I received a couple more tan Okay E2 mags from 44Mag.com’s closing sale. These came with black baseplates instead of tan. I posted about the tan vs. black base plates on the Okay Surefeeds a couple months ago - interesting that the black baseplate mags were produced a month after the tan ones (2/18). I guess Okay was grabbing whatever plates they had on hand to get these out the door. The new mags have a more matte finish too, compared to the glossier finish of the one dated 1/18.

I try to stop by Proven Arms & Outfitters (formerly Quantico Tactical) when I’m passing through Northern VA. They have a great selection and usually have some sales going on. Today I took advantage of their discount pricing on PMAGs if you buy 10 or more. Their website shows M3 window mags priced at $16.87 ea, but $13 ea if you buy 10:
PMAG 30 AR/M4 GEN M3 Window They honor their website prices in the store, but when the guy rang them up, they were actually $12.40 ea. He told me that their prices tend to fluctuate for some reason, maybe based on the wholesale price they pay for each batch. I got ten M3 window mags for $131.44 out the door. Pretty sure that’s the best price around for M3 window PMAGs. Attached File |

Just got another 10 pack of M2s for $7.99 each and free shipping from Palmetto. Watch for DSG's sales too. You can get ten packs of M3s for $110 shipped when they have the sale and $5 2 day shipping sometimes.
Get 'em cheap and stack 'em deep. |
