Midway?  Buy it.  I got one the last time they were on sale, I think it was $260 then.

yes. Midway. $225

Don't buy the optional bikini cover (unless you want to end up with two of 'em!). There's one included with the scope, at no extra charge.

probably the one in realtree, right? i'm thinking about picking this up for a plinker.

On something with low recoil (like all 5.56 ARs) there is no absolute need for two 30mm rings.  Place the single ring right behind the objective.  $225 is a steal.

i ordered one and it came in yesterday. i was supprised to find out it came with matching rings as well as cover. will probably end up on dedicated 22 build. hell they bring more than 225 on ebay.

I believe that Aimpoint specifies two rings for this model, but i could be wrong. Why jeopardize warranty just to look tacti-cool? I run mine with both rings, but it's up to you.

Great Deal.....(hijack) so what would be a good mount for this optic.

Actually, I was just being cheap!     I do see your point, though.   I've got a 7000SC on a little .308 carbine and that one wears two rings.  The K2 is semi only, and not something I put alot of rounds through.

Ordered one today.

Grand total with shipping from Midway using the $200 and up code in Team was $213

If they only had it in black for that price.....

Anyone have pics of these mounted on M4's?

Got mine a week or 2 ago.  Have painted it black and it looks great.   The rings were a nice addition for free but were to low for me.   Not sure what I'm going to use just yet.   Any suggestions??  I figure I'm going to use 2 rings also.  I only have a couple ARs so if I happen to grab this one I feel better with 2 rings holding my optic secure.

Here's one of mine, spray-painted with Krylon gloss black, mounted on a S&W M&P15-22:

The raised flat top mounting rail is a $30 UAG cheapie, bought from ultimatearms on ebay. It's a "see through" design that reduces weight - Works OK with the original Aimpoint scope rings, although the bikini cover is a tight fit.

Holy huge risers, Ba'man!

It's hard to get an idea of actual size with that on there.. lol

I think what I need is a side-by-side photo of one of these and a C3/M2/M3 etc...

Quick question: Would the Aimpoint outer rubber cover fit over the main body of this thing?

(I fully realize that the tube in the back will stick out..)

Will the flip-up covers for the CompM2 fit?

I called Aimpoint and they said that the CompM2 flip-ups will fit.

I don't see why they wouldn't. At least the front flip up cover should...

Here's my solution to a mount (from the huge 30mm one-piece mount review):

http://maxicon.com/guns/optics/caa/caa_dvsr.htm

Just got mine in and it fits the 9000sc like it was made for it.  Gives you some more eye relief too.  Haven't put it on the rifle yet, but mocked the scope up in the mount, and I think I might be able to fit a magnifier behind it.  I figured that I would start with one of the inexpensive one-piece mounts, in case it didn't work.

Not a big fan of that mount, the PEPR would have been a better option IMHO. SWFA has it for $69.95.

Agreed, but for people who are looking at cheap risers (~$20 - 30), the CAA may provide an economical (and lighter) alternative (~$25).

I've heard really good things about the PEPR, and from its measurements, it looks like it would fit too.  Haven't played with one myself though.

For my own knowledge, why didn't you like the CAA mount?  Looks like a pretty solid entry-level mount (obviously not a Larue though).

I found this pic (over on TFL) of a 9000SC [this looks like the longer 2X model] in a LaRue Mount. Clearly this shows that you do not need two rings to mount this sucker...

Mine's on top of a GG&G 1/2" riser, I've got a YHM BUIS behind it now.

It isn't always a matter of whether you can physically do it.  Sometimes a manufacturer will specify how many rings you use because they found problems with certain configurations during testing.  Some random mall ninja picture off the internet is not proof of anything.

Will the dual ring throw lever mounts like LT, ADM, or Bobro work?  Are the rings on those the correct distance apart to fit the 9000SC?

That price sure is tempting! Just wondering how it would fit/look on my 16'' flattop with fixed cut carry handle BUIS? I'd like a lower 1/3 co-witness so some type of higher rings would be needed? Anybody have a pic of this on a 16' carbine?

You would need some sort of rail riser/extension, this YHM should do the trick if you use it with the included rings.

Mine just showed up! Holy Moly! Is this thing awesome or what?!?!

And for anyone saying that you can't use a single ring mount. I say, "Hogwash!" That tube sticking out the back supports virtually no weight at all. All the weight (and electronic guts) are in the main body where the controls are, not aft of there. Using a two-ring mount like the Burris PEPR or LaRue's LT-104/LT-139, or even two Burris 30MM XTR rings, would be massive overkill to say the least. One beefy forward mount is all that you really would need.

This RDS looks just like the CompC3/M3 in every way; except for the extension on the back. And it is just as solid. This thing is built like a tank!!

And for all of you sitting on the fence, what the heck are you waiting for??!?!

Go check the specs on this and the CompC3, they are virtually identical. Well, this one weighs .3 of an ounce more than the C3, but that is only due to the tube sticking out the back. They have the same ACET technology (50K hours!) Same battery life. Same water resistance. Same temperature ratings. And same exterior dimensions (save for the extension).

For $225, this is a no brainer! And if you need more room behind this scope for your BUIS, or 3X magnifier, put it on a cantilever mount. Problem solved. Get 'r done!
