Field of view is huge compared to the ACOG, and the PA glass appeared to be equal if not better.  I tested glass by trying to read the farthest sign or license plate I could find.  the PA won.  IDK if that's because of the extra 0.5 magnification, or if the image quality is better through the glass, or because the PA has a larger objective diameter to gather more light.
But PA won.
I hope it is half as durable as the ACOG

As product marketing director of another optics company that is coming out with new prism scopes this year, I want to officially say.... Oh HELL YES, great job PA!

It's fortunate, and totally coincidental, that we did a 1x and a 3x, and PA did a 2x. Different strokes for different folks, all really good optics at a great price point, between the two of us I'm hoping we can breathe fresh life into the prism market, which has been eaten into by the rising tide of LPVOs. I'm a LPVO guy but it's fun to get excited about prisms again and show people that in 2020 you can get a LOT of scope for your money in a more compact, more lightweight package vs. a 1-6x or 1-8x.

I want to put this on a 5.56 suppressed 14.5 Coyote and pig gun. I’m new to varmint hunting. Does anyone have any thoughts about using this as a short range hunting optic?

After reading this thread and watching the review I preordered one for either a MK18 SBR (that's still pending ) or a 16" ddm4v7.

Looking forward to this one as I use red dots and LVPOs right now.

I must have got one of the last ones before the first pre-orders sold out. MARSH told me they were sold out after I said I ordered one and that they wouldn’t ship till June but just gone the email saying it’s shipped.

I’m pleasantly surprised and looking forward to getting my hands on it.

ACOGs are being left in the dust by PA on these 1x to 2x optics...

I've had nothing but QC issues with my ACOGs the last 5 years...zero with PA...not sure what is going on at Trijicon.

Just got mine.  My god! This is fantastic.  The glass is amazing, the eye box is amazing ... if this holds up to HD usage, this is going to replace my irons and XPS2's.

Great job PA.

Curious to see more opinions on these. I've got a "beater" build that needs something.

I've never ran Prism. Just red dots and LPVO's these days(Had an TA-33 in the past).

These are basically $400 with Tax. Can get a PST II 1-6 for $500 basically. Lighter weight of the prism has me wanting to try one, hopefully in the future they can get these out of being Made In China.

Mine arrived this morning even though tracking said it wouldn’t be here until Monday. What a nice surprise.

The glass is very clear and the reticle looks fantastic. Going to get it mounted up and take it out this weekend to sight it in. The packaging was very nice and came with multiple tools, lense cloth, two manuals, and thread locker which is a nice touch.

Mine just got delivered for my 300 BO "Suburban quiet Boog" project.

Initial impression:

Crystal clear glass, great resolution, sharp reticle ( thanks diopter!)

Excellent field of view, eye box is generous

It looks and feels robust / well made (not heavy, with high spacer it is 11.0 oz on the dot)

Eye relief seems longer than 3.5" for me ( hard to measure exactly)

Passes the Nevada sun, daylight bright test

I really like the highest spacer ( 1.64"), makes for perfect head placement

That's all for now, I like it well enough that it's getting painted.

Initial impressions are good.  With the tallest spacer, the bottom of the ranging line for the ACSS reticle seems to sit about right on top of the front sight post.  The FSB is visible, but it’s not bad.  If you don’t like using a red dot with FSB, then probably won’t like this.  I’ll have to get some firing time in order to know if it’ll stay on the Kino.

If you have the time, Could you post a picture looking thru it? I'm Looking at getting one of these for a 11.5" pistol with a FSB.

I couldn’t get the reticle in focus, so imagine the FSB fuzzy and a crisp ACSS reticle .  I’ll try later to see if aiming at something in the distance will help the focus.  I think the brightness was at about 5 here, I kept changing it trying to get a good image but I suck:

300 Blackout "Quiet Suburban Boog", 7 pounds as pictured. The PA 2x makes for a nice and light 0 -300 combo in my humble opinion.

All painted up:

Took mine out for the first time today. Let’s just say I’m very pleased.

Sighted it in at 50 yards. Only took 6 rounds to get it dialed in. From there was ringing steel at 300 yards easily. Topped it off with ringing 12” steel at 500 yards 3 times in a row with some right to left wind and the reticle worked perfectly. It was plenty bright in the California sun and the ranging marks were spot on.

I’m pretty blown away by the performance and value of this optic.

Just placed my order but the spec sheet doesnt specify zeroing for barrel length and bullet drops like the other acss reticles. Do i still zero at 50 yds for a 5.56 20" using m855?

I made a bit of time yesterday to get acquainted with my GLX-2X. I'm planning on spending quality time on range soon enough to really get it dialed in for close in work as well as stretching out it's legs a bit. I have very high hopes for this optic.

Yesterday was mostly just preparatory: I transitioned from the installed medium to the tall riser. I also moved the optic further back on the rail to tighten up the eye relief to my liking.

Having sold off my proven Cyclops and rolling the dice on this optic (preordering one less than an hour after it dropped) based soley how the GLX-2X looked on paper and MRW's prototype review, no regrets so far...

The pdf manuals on the product page does not list a torque value for both the spacers and the mount. Is this known?

I had the same question, per PA - Marsh;

Mount to scope: 35 - 45 inch pounds

Mount to rail: 55 - 65 inch pounds

The scope is just good ole Rust-Oleum, ultra flat in earth brown. I did a 91% isopropyl wipe down, then taped it off carefully and let it warm up in the sun a bit. Paint went on nice and easy with 3 light coats.

The soon to be sbr is Brownells Aluma Hyde in coyote with some midnight burnt bronze Cerakote’ed parts and DD brown thrown into the mix. It’s many shades of brown

I'd like to get one of these. There is a 5.56 and 7.62x39 version. Would buying a 5.56 work ok if I mount it on a 7.62x39 host? Or get the 7.62x39 version and use it on 5.56 AR. Can only afford one and would like to use it between hosts if I can.

I guess my question is. Which version of the GLx, the 5.56 or 7.62x39 is better at both 5.56 and 7.62x39 if can only have one.

Thanks

This optic intrigues me because I've used many, many red dots in my time and have had great success. However, I recently got a new iPhone with both 1x and 2x cameras, and I noticed I start every photo at 1x but then change to 2x to get a better picture. Every time. So I'm sitting here thinking why wouldn't I also at least try a 2x daylight-bright and shake-awake prism instead of all 1x red dots? I'm in.

If ya'll had a fiber powered optic I'd be all over it.  I'm not a fan of battery powered stuff I have to switch on and off.  At least with the micro red dots battery life is measured in years.  I can deal with that.  I'd rather just put a little tape on a fiber to darken it to my liking then deal with electronic light up optics.
