This is nothing new and I'm sure plenty of you guys are already doing it. If you don't have a vice and vice block for your AR lower and want to stake your castle nut, go to your local Home Depot or Lowes and pick up this..

You can do this on your kitchen counter. It doesn't take much.

I also posted this on TOS.

U mind posting a pic of the tool?  I haven't seen it before ...  but then again I am a n00b, so I haven't seen a lot of these tools before.

Looks pretty much like a window punch but only stronger. It's made to strike metal and other materials.

So the pin there is spring-loaded right?  Kinda like an emergency window breaker thing.  It looks like it makes nice and clean looking indents.

Yep. Same concept. You have to strike it a few times but it'll work. Just take your time. You can even practice on an old end plate if you have one sitting around.

If it's your "Go To", "SHTF" or "Competition" rifle I would say without a doubt stake it ... if it's a bench only plinker rifle not so important ... or at least that's the way I see it.

ETA .. nice post OP.

Vice block, castle nut wrench, big fuggin' hammer. If do it correctly you shouldn't damage the castle nut. Do it once, do it right. My buffer tube and end plate combo is what I want on there and don't see myself swapping any time soon.
