I really don't have a preference for any lower, it's what goes in and on top of the lower that I have opinions on and even then that differs based upon what I want to do with it (application)

btw, 285 for a blemish lower seems steep to me.

$285 for a BCM blem lower is right at $200 too much.

I would assume that it's $285 for a complete lower. Not a stripped lower. I have PSA, POF, and SAA and they all have been nice. The Seekins lower will be my next. Just a different design that I think looks good. But in most cases a lower is just a lower.

Sorry I didn't clarify that it is a complete lower.

Where did you find it for $285?  The website says $305.
Nevermind I guess that excludes the "stock body".  Does that mean the stock or the whole buffer assembly?  I would think just the buttstock.

I have used several BCM, Noveske, Stag, Colt. I am in the process of building another SPR right now and using a MEGA GTR-3S. Mega's fit and finish are second to none and everything I have ever purchased from them has been 100%.

I'm partial to Mega, but have used many other brands with success.

I'm hoping my next build will be my first billet upper/lower.

My next lower is going to be a Tactical Machining paired with a LAR Grizzle, side-charger upper in either
300 blackout or 6.8. I rambled...TM all the way.

my favorite lower would have to be the Knight's SR-15 lower with ambi controls. its an amazing piece of machinery, but costs an arm and a leg.

Blackwater ... oh wait I got the last one...
Tom Sawyer "Jolly Roger", damn I got the last one those also...

The BCM sounds good.

a big +1 to Mega.

from their forged receivers to their billet.....they are all TOP NOTCH

I recently purchased a AXTS A-DAC-F lower and I like it quite a bit.  Fit and finish is great, it comes with the receiver tensioning screw(a nice plus), and most obvious, it has the A-DAC which is a great feature to have IMO.

That said, I plan on ordering one of the AX556 lowers as soon as I have the dough!

I got one of the AGP stripped lowers. It is excellent. But, good luck finding them in stock.

I also bought a BCM blem complete lower. It is also excellent and I would recommend it.

I'd love to have one of those AR15.com Lowers......very nice!

My favorite based on fit/finish/etc is made by Barnes Precision Machine.  Very well made and made in NC!

How do these mount up to uppers? Any play/looseness?

I love LMT lowers! They mount up tight as shit and I like my guns like I like my wimenz... TIGHT

I have built plenty, from SAA, (love them for price builds) to LaRue. For the money you cannot go wrong with a MEGA!
Mega

Check the features. Mag well, Grip, Tensioning screw and sugg retail of 130! Go Mega.

My fav would have to be the Noveske for form and function and the Iron cross,  then the Seekins as it is just crazy cool , as for uppers I would have to say the Seekins first as it looks like they took the blue prints from the stealth bomber and incorperated them into makeing the upper, 2nd is the Vltor Muir 1.

i've allways like bushmaster and olympic arms .. but.. i recently traded into a precision arms lower that has the adjustable trigger screw from the factory.. fit was perfect against a rra 9mm upper and a no name .223 a2 upper.... the factory fire control group was really nice .. clean and crisp trigger.. my .02

I dont think the lower really matters much as long as it is up to spec. like others have said, its the things inside and on top that really matter. the complete BCM for 285 sounds like a pretty good deal to me though, assuming the shipping isnt steep and your transfer fee is fair. for whats its worth, I like Rock River, I completed one for under 300 not too long ago and the fit and finish of everything was perfect.

I feel the same...the stripped lower is just a shell for all the parts you put in/on it and $285 does seem high for a blem.

My favorite is the Magpul Billet Lowers. I don't have one     . For some reason people like to hold on to them! The Arfcom lower is a good runner up though. If you have the extra coin the AXTS lowers are very cool. There are so many good options out there it is hard to pick one

Late production PWA if you can find any or Lauer Custom weaponry.  PSAs are machined well but the anodized finish is not uniform on the two i have.

Yeah, for a plain jane forged lower, the Mega sure looks nice. They can be had for around $100 bucks too.

These days, it's pretty much about price and roll mark. Any reputable in spec lower will do just fine for you.

First lower was an AGP Arms and everything went together like butter.  It also has a cool little tension screw that is supposed to take out pre-travel of the trigger.

If I planned on having 5-6 builds I'd probably keep buying AGP Arms or the regular AXTS A-DAC-F forged lowers.  I don't right now and only want one or two builds, so for my second build I bought an AXTS AX556 lower.

1. LMT ('cuz my Form 1 is attached)
no surprise here

2. Quentin Defense

3. Noveske

4. Magpul/ARFCom simply due to the coolness

Been happy with RRA, stag, dpms, superior arms, surplus arms. Boils down to what rollmark you want. To be honost I could care less what is on my lower now. Was a concern when I first got into AR's. Now I just look for a lower that's in stock.
