Let's see pics of each and every available or unobtainable rare grips for the AK's. Special bonus for magpuls, lols. Please include a brief description for morons like me who may not know what your smuggled rare Russian prototype is.

I'm building a Yugo M92 and am in the tiny minority that hate the factory grip. I could use some inspiration. Thanks!

Tangodown/US Palm AK grip.  Best AK grip I have used.  If you like the Tangodown battlegrip or better yet if you like their new BG17 fatboy grip, (they are similar in size) you will like this grip.

Production models have a plug for battery storage (mine is a T&E prototype)

Disclaimer: I do not work with Tangodown or represent them.  I just am lucky enough to get to play with and try to break some of their prototypes from time to time.

Russian Izhmash grip

Some grips I got on broker 1911 style, super comfy but just not my style so I sold them.

had this for a long time

then had a custom Galil one done. My gunsmith does custom Glock reductions and textures. I talked him into doing 2 of these for me.

it's my favorite by far. Ergonomics work great for me, and that texture grips real nice too.

Edit for spelling

Here's what I'm considering for my M92...

Yugo wood
Izhmash
Tango Down
modded Magpul

I want to see everything, but I'd like to see those in particular if you've got them.

Thanks everybody for the pics!

I had an extra MIAD kicking around , so I modified it a bit and stuck it on my Norinco hunter project .It was an easy mod using the existing AK hardware .

I'm really not too crazy about the material Magpul uses , but I absolutely hate stock AK grips . I've butchered a backstrap already trying to get it to wrap up and around the bottom-rear of the receiver . I think I have one more left somewhere , so I'll be trying it again sometime . That Norinco is slated for a caliber change to 6.5 Grendel with a Lilja pipe I have , so the grip is not high on my priority list.

I recently ordered one of ERGO's new , fat grips for one of my ARs , through LaRue . Hands down ( bad pun ) the most comfortable grip I've had on any weapon .
I'd love to see them make one for an AK . I might try to modify an AR one to fit , but no doubt will end up looking butchered

I dont have any pics of the walnut one I carved for my first AK I built years ago . I put deep finger grooves in it and it was surprisingly comfortable , yet still not as comfy as that ERGO grip above.

I wanted get the US Palm grip, but I couldn't pass up the RPK grip for $15.

CAA. Comfortable but ugly. I might try a Magpul grip since I like how they feel on AR's. Plus it's another US part so I don't have to buy Americanized circle 10's.

The Ace adapter positions the grip lower. They (previous pics) have modded the Margpul grip to bolt directly to the rifle instead of to an adapter and then the rifle.

Yeah I've done it twice. Magpul for some reason has two holes in their grips, the one for the AR screw, and a second extra hole that works perfectly for the AK. You have to shave the rear tang off the grip flush with the top of the grip, then widen the opening for the trigger guard and AK grip nut. and that's it.
about 10-15 minutes with a dremel and done. I like it much better than the adapters that are available.

I had a standard AR grip and modded it to fit the AK and found it to not be hand filling enough in the web area of my hand allowing way too much of my trigger finger around the trigger and I have thick palms and stubby fingers

The Ace adapter may address this issue.

Is the Houge more hand filling or at least as much as the standard AK grip?

Thank you. She currently wears a Magpul MS2 sling that I run as a single point on a QD swivel. A big part of the reason for me going with the collapsible stock setup other than the obvious reasons was that it has the female QD attachment points right where I need them. I tried a few different slings and found the MS2 to work perfectly for me and I can adjust it with one hand if needed. Another big reason was that I found that the steel buttplate on the regular AK stocks likes to slide around if you're wearing a chest rig and moving. The rubber buttpad on the CTR is nice and sticky once you get it where you want it. I'm just waiting on the RSAKM Aimpoint mounts to be put on the market so I can slap one on and she'll be done.

Like another posted stated, it's pretty simple. Cut off the beaver tail so it fits flush against the receiver(this is best done with a band saw, there is a lot of material there that can gum up a dremel blade). Then start hogging out the inside of the top around the screw holes so the pistol grip nut can fit inside. Finally, hog out the front so it can fit snugly around the trigger guard. On my SGL21 the grip is perfectly flush with the trigger guard, if you run your finger across it, it's one smooth surface. The trigger guard on my Saiga conversion is a little recessed since I reused the old trigger guard when I did the conversion. Also, you will need a short M6 screw and a washer to mount it.

I don't have any personal experience with the US Palm grip............but I do with the factory Izhmash grip.  I think it's the perfect grip for those with bigger hands.  I can't stand the standard AK grip.  It feels like I'm holding a popsicle stick.  So the Izhmash was a welcomed change.

The only problem is, if/when you can find them........they're $50ish.  Not a horrible price, but pretty expensive when you're comparing grip prices.  But you do get the "authenticity" of having a factory Izhmash grip, if that's something that matters to you or not.

If you're not dead set on the Russian authenticity part of it.............Mike Davidson (the guy who makes the MD20 round drums for Saiga-12's) came out with a US made clone (except with finger grooves) of the factory Izhmash grip that sells for $12: https://www.mdarms.com/index.php?main_page=product_info&cPath=8&products_id=9

EDIT:...........and if you're dead set on the factory Izmash, I think you're only bet is Rusmilitary's site, or finding a private seller.  I got mine from a member on another board.

There is a member (ronin) on theakforum.net that makes an exact copy of the Izzy grip as well as other combloc grips.

I have both his clone and the real one, and there is no difference except that it is missing the Izhmash logo.  He molds them from the original.  Lot cheaper too.

Here's a rather cheesy plastic grip I just got with a rifle.  Side screws are fake, the grip is two pieces and creaks like a cheap plastic toy when you put pressure on it sideways.  It's going soon:

Here's one of my favorites.

Israeli manufacture, rock solid, good texture, and not too many finger-grooves to get in the way.  Plus, it has a locking compartment for batteries, cleaning kit, etc.

I re-profiled the front of this Chinese fat-boy to give a better grip, but keeping the same overall AK look.

I think its probably OK, it is still a magazine in function and that "thing" could be considered a magazine assistance device like a magpul if you think about it. I wouldn't sweat it.
But good warning I didn't catch it.
