View Quote i picked one up in dec/jan. mine was pretty thrashed outside but pristine on the inside. looks great, slightly canted sights (who cares) it was ontarget out of the box and i can hold 3MOA with cheap walmart tula ammo. love this AK. having deployed 3 times, this is the closest thing i could get to an actual beat to shit AK from iraq. score, get em while you can!! |

coolest AK IMO. Back in stock, RPK receiver, 7.62x54R
These are so much fun to shoot. I destroyed a $300 steel target on accident with one of these. http://www.atlanticfirearms.com/component/virtuemart/shipping-rifles/vepr-7-62x54r-rifle-classic-burgundy-ak-detail.html?Itemid=0 |

WASR for $550 @ Centerfire: www.centerfiresystems.com/AKAGUN20.aspx It's the version that does have the bayonet lug and threaded barrel. They do charge 3% for credit card orders, but $566.50 is still the best price I can find right now on one. Shipping is also a reasonable $15 for long guns. |

Might have to go with that. I was thinking of thinking of ordering the same thing from Atlantic. I appreciated their "QC Inspected" to ensure no cants within reason on the front sight, magazine fit, action operation. Any opinions on centerfiresystems.com? This is my first AK so I'm not totally sure what to expect. Edit: Assuming there's no credit card fee with Atlantic (can anyone tell me if there is?) then there would just be a $20 difference, so that isn't a big enough deal if it guarantees me a quality rifle. |

I'm looking at getting a WASR 10 also. What do you guys think about this? http://www.deguns.net/wasr-10-p/ri1805-n.htm
I'm currently staying in Lincoln, NE where the DE gun shop is so I'm planning to check them out this week, but I'd have to have it shipped to Iowa since i'm an Iowa resident. I mean $540 seems like a lot for a WASR, but the WASRs have improved quite a bit in quality recently. Part of me wants to wait for a price drop, but part of me is skeptical a price drop down to $500 will happen in the near future, or even ever again! I've always wanted an AK, and this will be my first, I just don't want to over pay. opinions? |

The fact that you're able to see it in person first should be some good incentive to make the purchase (assuming the rifle looks good), considering many of us must purchase sight unseen. I also considered whether or not to wait for a price drop since the current prices are probably the highest they've ever been... but look at it this way- the current price might also be the lowest it'll ever be again. With the reported increase in quality with the new WASRs, the demand could go up and we could be seeing them for 6-700+ in a year or two. You don't want to be kicking yourself in 2017, thinking 'remember when you could get a WASR for $5xx' |

for those of you with C&R's or log-ins at Centuryarms.biz, they have EXC cond. NPAP polymer's for $349 +$8 shipping. You need your FFL to order it for you now though. I'd guess that these are returned guns that they went through and verified they were working well. Not sure though. Listed under the flashing arrow unlisted deals. You might find them using their search command too, not sure.
Having owned an OPAP before, I'm passing on this deal. The N-PAP doesn't have the best track record and the Yugo's use non-standard AK furniture and stuff too |

Crazy high for a wasr!
I picked up an iraqi contractor wasr10 last year or the year before...? I think i payed $379, Granted it was a "used" rifle, was in great shape inside, didnt look like it was used, just carried by the african jambo's at iraqi camps/bases. ?? its heavily weathered and shows patina from handeling, shoots straight and cycles/ejects very reliablely, cant ask for too much more for undrr $400 rifle. ?? |
