The ACE folder is very comfortable, especially with the .5" recoil pad. Cheek weld is excellent with low mounted optics like you pictured.

I could never get over the tang cutting involved with the ace. I would go with the bonesteel if I wanted the galil style stock.

bonesteelarms or cncwarrior - check out their websites, lots of options

This stock does not require cutting the tang

I have  had  both bonesteel and ACE. The bonesteel is  a better design and has a tighter lockup.

Bonesteel.  If you want a better cheek weld get the Bonesteel folder with the AR buffer type extension.  Slap a Magpul stock on it with one of their cheek pieces.  It gives good cheek weld, folds, and is six position adjustable.  It is the best stock I have found by far.

I wish I would have stumbled across the bone steel folder before buying a vltor stock adaptor. I also have a Mak 90 and the choices are limited with the thicker receiver they use. I'm also not find of cutting off the rear tang to install an ace folder

Here is my old thread where i go over the tang cutting.  It is not that big of a deal.

http://www.ar15.com/forums/t_4_64/151158_Putting_and_ACE_folder_on_my_WASR.html

I also went with the Stormwerkz folding mechanism and think it locks up VERY tight.

I like the cheek weld after i wrapped it with paracord.  Before it was a little harsh during recoil.

Both are good. I kind of like the low profile of the ACE internal adaptor. Over the Bonesteel. Does not stick out.

My WASR that I did with a ACE stock. Very comfortable and Locks up very well.

comparison of folding stocks

Ace 9" sidefolding skeleton stock  vs.  Bonesteel Arms/Cnc Warrior Warsaw length galil style folding stock

Weight as installed including mounting hardware (I did not subtract weight of cut off tang required for ACE install)
Ace 16.54 OZ
Bonesteel 14.50 OZ

total width of hinge while extended
Ace 1.92"
Bonesteel 1.73"

Total width of hinge while folded
Ace 3.24"
Bonesteel 2.65"

Length while folded, measured from rear of receiver
Ace .90"
Bonesteel 1.36"

folded stock to receiver center to center
Ace 1.8"
Bonesteel 1.45"

Ace Sidefolding M4 stock vs Bonesteel Arms/Cnc Warrior sidefolding M4 stock

Also compared Bonesteel Arms/Cnc Warrior Left side widefolding stock for use on rifles with side rails(currently standard on left folding VEPR stocks, coming soon for Ak models)  (Bonesteel standard folding M4 stocks do not fold parallel on receivers with side rail, as can be seen in picture)

Weight as installed including mounting hardware , not stock installed just folding m4 tube(I did not subtract weight of cut off tang required for ACE install)
Ace 11.89 OZ
Bonesteel 10.05 OZ

total width of hinge while extended
Ace 1.92"
Bonesteel 1.73"

Total width of hinge while folded
Ace 3.13"
Bonesteel 2.75"
Bonesteel Left side wide folding 3.09"

Length while folded, measured from rear of receiver
Ace .90"
Bonesteel 1.36"

folded stock to receiver center to center
Ace 1.8"
Bonesteel 1.45"
Bonesteel Left side wide folding 1.8"

Length of stock fully collapsed, measured from rear of receiver
Ace 8.75"
Bonesteel 8.5"

Yes.  I was just practicing with mine today and I get sufficient cheek weld to see comfortably though my red dot with the ACE.

How do you have your red dot mounted?

Mak90

I would definitely use a bonesteek then.

I put a Romanian side folder on mine.

My receiver is slash cut, so I welded small triangle   ish pieces on the folder, and a rectangle that goes under the grip nut.

Super solid,  I did have to egg the holes in the tang.  Got some counter sunk allen head screws, and cut them to fit.

Love it, you get used to getting your teeth rattled.

Why is that?

So you wont have to cut off the tang.  On a draco for example if you would turn it into a rifle I would use the ace because the draco has no tang.

i've never had a u.s folding stock i liked at all.or the mako stuff.the bone steel is probably the best of them all.

the wire folders get a lot of bad press but they are usable for sure.you can flick them into folded and open with your hand on the p grip.they feel less obtrusive when they are folded compared to just about everything.

How hard would it be to swap out the wood stock on a Romy G for one of these?

Two screws worth of effort. They are a drop in replacement.
