I’ve been wanting to do a 5.7 in a TC encore or contender. This info on velocities is pretty impressive https://www.fivesevenforum.com/viewtopic.php?f=18&t=5333

I put 200 rounds of the FN Blue box through this S&W today…. flawless!! It’s just so smooth and accurate.

I’ve fired SEVERAL more magazines of FN SS198 (Green Tip). I’ve NEVER experienced a malfunction using SS198.
I’m pretty damn sure all of the previous malfunctions were related to using Federal American Eagle ammunition |

I bought the M&P 57 and 2 Ruger LC carbines. Love all of them. Very fun light guns. I have a thermal and an Oculus on one of the carbines. Waiting to catch the first pig in my yard.

Who has the best price right now on the M&P 5.7 with no safety? Exile Did recently have these for $589. But no longer.

Well S&W is on fire! The 5.7 M&P had a love child! https://rumble.com/v2ypjhi-smith-and-wesson-m-and-p-22-magnum-range-review.html. A 22Mag M&P pistol with the same tempo barrel system.

If I had to guess, they're also gonna release a .17 HMR eventually, which would complete their patent statement.

Guessing they copied the Grendel/Kel-Tec .22 WMR mag design, long out of patent, should run reliably. A decent .17 HMR carbine w/ the same mags could give pretty nice ballistics. |

Shame because it was a blast to shoot and the sparrow is small enough to still use the open sights. If I get froggy I may adaptify my Omega 30 onto it and see how that does View Quote Wish I had seen this before buying one. I wanted to use it with my Oculus, but the check with an alignment rod was iffy at the endcap. I’ve already sent my can back to Rugged once for an endcap strike, also with 5.7, but that was on a CMMG SBR, and I believe was caused by the can starting to unscrew itself. The pistol design with the threading on a sleeve that the barrel moves inside of doesn’t seem to lend itself to concentricity. |

Took out the M&P 5.7 today with its baby brother. The New M&P 22magnum! Put 500!rounds through it today. Everything from CCI max mag to Maxi Mag +V to TNT, Hornady v max and Winchester supreme 30/34 grainers. Excellent. No hiccups. Slow or fast. It just ran. Also shot the PMR 30. Thanks to the Lula loader. Again. Flawless.

These guns come with a factory magazine loader. Very simple but it works. Does anyone know where I could buy one?

I see that CHPWS has plates for the 5.7

Not sure. So the footprint on the M&P5.7 as well as the little brother M&P 22mag is a RSMc footprint?

just picked one up from my LGS. They are going out of business. Got the gun and 450 rds of Fiocchi bulk pack for $875 OTD. I am looking for a OWB light bearing holster for a TRL-1. Anyone have any recommendations?
So far so good on ammo. Shot the Fiocchi with no issues, FN Red Box, blue box, and Gold dots. Going to cary gold dots in it. Going to be my new truck gun. I put a EPS MRS on it and I had no issues dinging 8" gong at 50 yards. |

A few years back was going to borrow some commercial freezer space from a buddy of mine for organic gel blocks for some ARFCOMers who wanted to test 5.7 loads. I took a deployment and never heard anything else. Be very interesting if the differences btwn the Gold Dot loads were just a couple of inches in gel, & they both met FBI protocols. I don't really think it's a problem if the .22 WMR load sheds its jacket as long as it expands reliably and penetrates @ least 12" in calibrated organic gel. What happens if 5.7x28mm is the .357 SIG to 9x19mm +P? |

This is an interesting comparison of the .22 WMR & 5.7x28mm Gold Dots through denim into non-calibrated clear gel. The 5.7x28mm carries a lot more energy, but the .22 WMR Gold Dot gives a respectable performance.

A 17hmr version of their pistol would be a great backpacking gun for me. Would probably be my go to varmint truck/4 wheeler gun. I hope they make a 17hmr pistol and a 17hmr side folding carbine as well. |

I got a M&P5.7 a bit ago and I only have a little over 100rds through mine now.
It is an absolute blast to shoot. Recoil on par with my Buck Mark pistol and a report like a 5.56mm AR. I just put a Holsun EPS-Carry on it this morning. Anyone have recommendations for holsters? Specifically light bearing IWB holsters? |

So why would someone need a plate? There are pretty sizable gaps with a Holosun K footprint optic. Additionally the firing pin channel is open to the bottom of the optic. Which some feel they need to close off with a plate. But the optic seems to close the firing pin channel just fine by itself. Attached File Attached File Attached File |

Crossposting from the optics forum to help other M&P 5.7 owners here.
I got a Burris FastFire 3 reflex sight with the intention to mount it on my M&P 5.7. The Burris 410336 Smith & Wesson M&P adapter plate does not fit the M&P 5.7 pistol. CHPWS does NOT make an adapter plate to mount the FastFire 3 to the M&P 5.7. They said they can custom make one, but minimum cost for that would be $150. I sent an email to Burris to see if they could help. |

There are two versions of the Gold Dot 5.7 load; both are 40gr bullets, but the older load is a six petal bullet with a larger HP cavity and loaded at about 100fps faster.
