Lets see some pictures of some oddball handguns/revolvers!  I want to buy something different.

HK VP70
I just got one of the 9x21mm versions that is extrememly rare since only a handful made into the country.
The standard 9mm luger is easier to find but still an uncommon gun.
It was the first ever polymer handgun; beating Glock by 12 years.

owned one of those chambered in .380 once upon a time, was told when I traded it in that it was only worth anything if it was the whole 4 caliber kit

Browning BDM

A very thin, compact, and ergonomic doublestack 9mm.   They didn't make a whole lot of them, and the AWB pretty much killed production.

SVI Tiki

Available in steel, titanium, or aluminum.  It employs an unusual sighting system: an inset pair of front dots that line up with a pair of rear dots.   Custom orders only, and it starts at around $6500.

I'm not too sure about that, but mine is one of the 500 manufactured by the French MAS and it is all numbers matching (paperwork, boxes, .22 barrel)

+1 on the Browning BDM.  I owned one back "in the day," and traded it off.  A like-new BDM Practical model came my way in November and I bought it to replace my first one.  Although it's box was marked "10-round magazine," where were two BDMs in the store's counter and I suspect the magazines got switched.  In any event, I have a new 15+1 shot BDM that has proved 100 reliable . . . and the ergonomics?  OUTSTANDING . . . LIKE NONE OTHER!

I bought two new 10 rounders for it last weekend too.  I won't get rid of this one!!!

I don't know how rare this is but I've never seen another one. Norinco PSO1, a Chinese copy of the Russian Margolin target pistol.

Not really rare but you don't a Remington XP-100 everyday (this is the original model in 221 Fireball)

S&W 422 and 2214 are fairly odd and very affordable, often being found for well less than $250

These guns will also take standard S&W Model 41 rimfire magazines though they will stick out the bottom of the smaller 2214s bottom.

Another Oddedy I own is an Astra Model 1921/400 in 9mm Largo.
Ammo is still readily avaiulable and you can handload for the gun using .38 Super brass loaded to 9mm Parabellum velocities.
These handloads will work in the great majority of the guns that are available on the market and are lots of fun to shoot in this large blowback action pistol!
The gun is also suprisingly accurate.

Everyone probably knows this oddity as the Heckler and Koch P7

This is one of those pistols most people either love or loathe.
My own opinion on mine is lukewarm.
I don't love it and I don't hate it, it is just another oddball attempt at creating the perfect handgun and like so many other attempts it failed.

No need to, it can be "shouldered" just fine.

How do you figure? It was adopted by many different police and military agencies in numerous countries and had a respectable production life.

The Coonan .357 automatic is beening produced again for around MSRP $1250.  I had two in the past that were accurate and realiable.

Have you considered a LeMat black powder revolver?  9 shots of .44 and a 20 ga center barrel.

Here is a straight pull SKS pistol found in Iraq.  Course BATFE would frown on this.

Or how about one of the Mare's Leg copies out now (pistol version of a Wincester 92)?

Astra made a hell of a lot of Model 400s, they were popular as a Police and Military handgun for many, many years longer than the P7.
Then something better came along and replaced those guns too.
That's how I figure. Don't go and get you shorts in a bunch.

Beretta Model 1915 9mm Glisenti. First self loading pistol Beretta made and it has two safeties, the big one on the side and a small one on the rear of the slide. The front sight is attached to the barrel and looks like a Luger barrel with the band on the front.

@Milo5:

Funny but for an oddball gun, there are still pulling in $650 a pop for the PSP German police trade-ins.  Not oddball at all.  Head over the PCT and see the thousands of members many with multiple P7s.

Still one of my most accurate out the box production guns.  Shot one of my new to me P7s with the flush release - another never shot a P7 and was shooting 1.5" groups at 15 yards offhand with it.

Now mint 40SW version, HK P7M10s are  oddities and commands $2500 plus.
