Hey guys I've searched everywhere to find out what or how this gun was finished. It's being called the green goblin race gun

Anyone know who finished it or how it was done? It looks color case hardended but I thought that was a big don't do on a 1911 slide.

Thanks guys

Looks like anodized aluminum. I'm not sure what it actually is but it looks anodized.

I think it was some type of nitriding. I don't think M2i does that specific finish anymore. They are in AZ so I have seen that finish. If I recall, it was too hard and brittle.

It also looks like Cadmium plating (used in the past on many auto parts) it had the gold/multi-colored tint like that. But chances are it is the deposition build-up as stated above.

Looks similar to a ti nitride finish applied to an unpolished piece of metal. Makes for some slick action on forks on motocross bikes.
