I'm a few months too young to technically be a boomer, so I normally carry a G19 or 43. This time of year, I'll carry my 9mm 1911 since my only decent holster is OWB. I need to pony up for a good IWB holster. Y'all are making me want to buy a Milt Sparks. Are the wait times still crazy long?

I’ve been carrying a G19.5 with a 509T for the last year and a half. I’ve been shooting “mini competitions” with a group once or twice a week so I’ve blown through quite a bit of my 9mm reserve. Out of necessity, I switched over to .45 since I’ve got plenty of that.
I dusted off a couple of 1911s and naturally they shot like a dream. So well I’ll probably start carrying one again regularly. Today it was the Kimber Pro Carry. Attached File |

I sub'd to this thread long ago, being a late GenX I usually carry a G19 with a dot. My first carry was a 92FS so large guns dont bother me, but I have had a DW Vigil 5" that I bought myself for retiring in 2017 and being an aircraft mechanic it soothes my mind with its mechanical bits. I carried it everyday until the summer of love 19/20 but coming back to this thread I find myself missing something I actually LIKE to carry. I shoot it well, it cycles every kind of ammo I've stuffed in it including 230 HST and it just carries well. So, tomorrow I'm going back to it for the forseeable future.
For that, thank you gentleman. Life is too short to carry a boring gun. P.S. I live in a VERY small town and dont have to interact with people if I dont need to. I could carry a blue gun forever most likely. |

I’d carry plastic guns because it was easy, and shoot a 1911 95% of the time. I don’t miss any of the strikers, good riddance. I did keep the 365 because of the niche it fills, but it is seldom carried. 1911/2011 until I die. |

I updated my battle belt set up. Safariland ALS, short reload, short AR rifle reload, pouch for magpul MUT. Snakestaff TQ in blue alpha holster. Gonna replace the market with a small flashlight I think.
Trying for more minimal but still enough to back up the rattler/PC which is primary. Attached File Attached File |

I'm really liking the new Staccato P. I've shot 1500 trouble free rounds so far including four different types of hollowpoints. Next weekend I'll put 500 rounds of Federal HST through it and put it in the rotation if it does well.

I have old timers tell me that if you shake a 1911 and it doesn't rattle it is too tight and not to be trusetd.
My first was a Springfield that I paid $400 for, and then put close to a grand into it with improvements. Now I can buy something off the shelf that is pretty close (excepting the trigger that Sega gunworks did for me in the early 90's) |

I put about 200 rounds of various ammo from +P duty rounds to light 200 grain reloads through it with no issues. Rapid follow up shots are a breeze. I’m looking forward to carrying this one, I’ve wanted one of these for years.
