Thanks man!  The Dillon helps feed it, and I'm a good way off from needing to fire it up again for another run. Plus I bought cases of .45 for 9mm prices when a bunch of local agencies were swapping to 9mm.  I definitely need to stock up on more mags though, I hate having to take a break and load mags so often.

Yup,
Sure do.
The tape I purchased from Lowes is pretty thin, so I don't get too much gap at all.

I'd take a picture of it for you, but at work.
They frown on "skate tape".

My buddy sold his LW Champion Operator a couple of days ago. He still has his DW Specialist with red dot, though.

His LW had aftermarket front strap checkering. I need to have that done on mine. Anybody have any good places that'll do that on aluminum frames? I'm looking for someone who'll do 25 LPI or 30 LPI ideally.

It thought some day, I'd replace all the mim in the RO to real steel parts.
If I ever did, I'll probably send the frame out for the bobtail, and 25lpi checker on the front strap.

Until I get to that point, tape works.  The 25lpi on the Guardian works really well.

I'm using the Wilson sticky fake checkered front strap since I'm not worried about rust. It's better than grip/skateboard tape, IMO.

I'll pay to have the real thing done to it, though.

These guys are really nice. I walked in to drop my frame off for a bowtie cut. One guy stopped what he was doing and took care of me. He was offering to do the front strap checkering then but I didn't really have the money. I also don't want to refinish my loaded.

I’ve thought real hard on several occasions about sending my Grandpa’s Gold Cup to Evo. They do really nice work from what I have seen.

Also, I’ve tried skate tape, those VZ precut pieces, and that Boodad rubberized stuff on the front strap. All of it peeled quickly or caused a gap in the grip panels. I took it all off and make due with Simonochs or VZ Operators. One day the smooth straps will get checkered.

I've heard good things about the Wilson Combat checkered front strap. For 10 bucks I'm going to add one in with my next order and give it a try. I think they make a blued version also.

I believe that you will have to relieve the grips to have then sit flush with the Wilson.
More so than grip tape.

I bought one of those a while back. It is in a bin in the garage somewhere.

Problem isnt the price but the fitment. But maybe I am just retarded.

It works OK. It rusts easy and you need something under it so it doesn't slide down. I used electrical tape.

I sent my Springfield Milspec to EA for some work. They installed a Kart barrel and EGW bushing and I had them do the bowtie cut. The barrel and bushing were fit well, but I was a little disappointed that they didn't polish the throat or break the edge between the throat and the chamber. When I got the gun back the bowtie cut hadn't been done so they had me ship it back. When I got it back the second time the bowtie cut wasn't deep enough and the barrel feet were hitting the VIS. They had me send it back again and it came back good. I had a few stoppages with the gun so I sent it to Wilson for their reliability package and it has been great since.

I've used Talon tape (cut to fit) on uncheckered front straps before. It's nice and cheap, plus not so aggressive it messes anything else up. If you just get it on the front (not under grip panels) you can keep everything good and flush.

Scored a new old stock Bianchi Chapman hi rise from flea-bay.
It'll serve both the Guardian and the Springfield rmr as well, because of the cut.

I'm somewhere around 30 or so. Some day I'll sell some off but I've never found another handgun that fits my hand as well, and shoots to my natural hand point of aim. Had plenty of newer styles but I don't like fiddly little bits and tiny springs and shit that fly off into the netherworld when you pull something else off.

As much as I love my mountain gun I kinda want a .45 acp 625 for matches.  The .45 win mag brass does help but I'm not sure it reloads as easy as acp.

My Dan Wesson has been down for almost a month, but only because of my stupidity.

In February, I ordered a 10-8 rear sight, a Kensight front, new springs and a new set of grips.  Going by discussions on the interwebs, DW went to a Novak front dovetail [depending on what is true] either early in 2015, or, sometime in 2015.  Before that, they used a Springfield dovetail up front.
I ordered a Springfield.
It's a Novak.

So a lot of time was just returning sights, sights getting lost in the return, sights getting found in the return, and sights being shipped back to me......ugh.
In the meantime, new mainspring, new recoil and FP spring.  Fit the rear 10-8, and yesterday, fit the front.
The results.....

Hell yeah! My daughter has a matching pink handled “”six gun” same as my son does, and I think she walks around with it more than he does.
