The other entry is equally weird.   In July 2005 it shows the Cybersecurity and Infrastructure Security Agency turned it over to Anniston.   Well it seems the Cybersecurity Agency didn't form till years after 2005, maybe even as late as 2018.   I found where they initially were called the National Protection and Programs Directorate, but even that didn't form till 2007.   So I think this almost might be a clerical error.  Or at least that is my hunch.

I've ran a lot of FOIAS and have been studying the Range Grade FOIAS coming out of the CMP and seen patterns.   So my hunch is whoever transcribed this over from the DODAAC sheet, made a clerical error on those two entries.  But I can't prove it till I can get the FOIA officer to re-run  the report and right now I'm having a hard time getting them to agree to that.

I think I have a pretty good idea what the code should be from Sept 1998 to  July 2005, I just need to be able to re-run it to prove or disprove my theory.

But I'm still digging.  I love to research and this is a fun new research project.     :)

I'm a little late here, but Lexington, KY is most likely correct, with a Reserve component, not generally known. We also have a CID unit in Louisville, and I believe some now in Frankfort at the Boone Center.

Pat McNamara.  I believe this was when he was active duty.  Not the clearest photo but you can make out the shielded Bomar.

The Delta guy (GWOT guy) we trained with at Storm Mountain carried a Les Baer that had been re-worked by the unit armorer.   He still had the gun, it was still using the original barrel.  He said it had about 25,000 rds on it!

Anyone know when the Wilson Combat Delta "cave guns" were tested and built in the timeframe? They're not listed in the Vickers 1911 book, but I have correspondence from Larry Vickers stating that they were indeed tested & evaluated by Delta. I'm assuming slightly before the Springfield Armory Custom Shop Delta guns, as they were built on Caspian light rail frames, albeit earlier castings with single picatinny rail slots compared to the Springfield double picatinny railed frames.

I haven't had time to post it.  But I plan to one of these days in great detail.

But the Green Frame Vickers Delta M1911 from his book (that was pictured earlier in this post), I found a CMP Range Grade pistol with the exact same FOIA as his.  I ran a FOIA on his serial and that is how I figured out the FOIAS were the same.  Same dates, shame shipments, etc.

After I found it all out, I sent all the research over to Larry Vicker's and he was kind enough to look it over and respond.

When I get a little more time I will start a new thread and lay out all the research, but here is a little teaser info.  His thumbs up meant a lot to me.   It's probably about the best provenance you can get for something like this.

Btw I did ask him if it was ok if I could show our conversation and he gave me permission to post it.   His hope was like mine, maybe if this research becomes more well known, we might find some pistols to study.

Wow that's awesome!  I'd be buying a copy of that book (if you don't have it) and having that email and FOIA printed on some nice card stock to keep all three with the gun.

Scotty Miller was notorious for always having his 1911 and a MK18-esque build nearby.

Was a great guy to work for too.
