How do you decock that thing with a round in chamber without firing it?

I've always loved the design and look of the ACW Anomaly...

...but with two kids in college and another starting in a year it'll be a while before I can afford the real deal so I decided to make my own out of my Tisas Tank Commander.

I bobbed the hammer/grip safety and contoured the thumb safety so it's more comfortable...then blued all of the small parts. I also installed a heavier mainspring.

I don't decock my 1911s that have spurred hammers on a live round either.  If necessary, I always drop the mag, clear the weapon/eject the live round, and drop the hammer.

Neat.  I always thought that was a cool mod.  I don't think I've actually used the hammer on a 1911 in 20 years or so.

Decided to try some of the Magpul 1911 grips on my old rail gun. They feel better than I expected. Will try to get to the range to try them out this week.

Thank you! That's a Grand Seiko titanium diver with a spring drive movement (SBGA031). It's not the most beloved diver in the world due to its unique looks and bigger size, but I wear it a ton and actively chose it over a Rolex Sub.

@friskydingo that's a sexy beast of a watch for sure. I'm not tiny and the 42mm Pelagos I've got feels thiccc. Not sure I could handle 2 additional millimeters.

also now I need details on the Vigil. Upon reflection, that's got a bobtailed magwell, different trigger, and Harrison grips, right? Who did the work?

My wrist is wide and little over 7" so the GS wears easily, it blends nicely to the wrist and doesn't overhang or look like rapper bling hanging there.

My Vigil has a flat trigger and grips from Harrison, with a Wilson Combat round butt magwell (627BCRB). The rest of the gun is stock, and all the work was done by me as I am very comfortable working a 1911.

@friskydingo thanks for that info. Does the magwell need to have the frame cut at all or just extends out the magwell? Either way I’ll again say it looks great.

I had been eyeing a .40 1911, the only other one I ever had was an STI Trojan and I should have kept it, but anyways I picked this up off of CZCustom website. A few things I noticed, front fiber optic was green, which I like better and the grips that came on it were black VZ Operator II's but they were not thin grips, which again, is good. Have sets of those grips laying around in different colors, just so happen to have green too. Haven't shot it yet but I have taken it apart a few times and gave it the initial clean and lube.

Joescuba posts never disappoint.

Amazing the Surefire MR07 rail adaptors are going for $700 and up now, the retro market is still going strong it seems.
