Looks like higher profile sights than the 1911A1 Army and Tanker.

Yes the sights are taller, which helped me make up my mind between the Tanker and the Tank Commander

SS45 Carry right out of the box.  I have since replaced the cheapo black plastic grips with Pacmayr Grapplers.

I asked the importer sds at the IV8888 YT shoot about a nice Hi-power clone last year. He said they couldn’t get them.

Then this year Springfield armory has their new model. I’m willing to bet they are getting the frames and slides from them and assembling them here.

If that is the criteria for a ‘blemished’ firearm, then all the plum colored Ruger Blackhawks are blemished.

The Tisas US Army is stated to have Series 70 internals. As I’m relatively new to 1911 ownership, is this the lightened firing pin for drop safety or other items? What should be looked for when determining if certain aftermarket parts will be compatible?

My Tisas Model 1911A1 U.S Army "blem" really is a blem. Don't care, still a great deal and now I want a Tank Commander.

I am a 10MM fan and thought why not... It is a good shooter, I have shot 350 rounds of my reloads through it with no issues...

What hammer is that?

I have a service A1 and the spur hammer tears my hand up. Wanting to swap it out for a ring hammer.

But I’ve never tinkered with 1911s so not sure if it’s a drop in part or what.

In my case it dropped right in.

Any chance Tisas will ever make a “MODEL 1911A1 U.S.ARMY” roll marked in a REAL Parkerized finish? The way they come now is with a Ceracoate finish that resembles a “parkerized” finish.
I believe Rock Island makes one with a real Parkerized finish…but they have their “stupid” roll marks!
Small details are sometimes very annoying. All those employees, plus the importer employees and nobody can figure shit out!

I like old 1911’s with usage wear…an inconsistent Parkerized finish would be PERFECT! Get me a blem, please. I’m sure I’m not in the minority on this preference.

+1

It does look good.

IIRC, there are 2 cerakote finishes. One is cured at room temp, the other is cured in an oven. Which is used for Tisas 1911s?

FYI…just about every dealer advertises these as Parkerized finish. Isn’t Parkerized, actually a trademarked name? Should be parkerized “color” Ceracoate finish…with the small “p”!
Really sort of annoying.

So far ANYWAY, only the small batch mentioned above are a real Parkerized finish…99.9% are Ceracoate finished in one color or another!

Well, MGE told me they were shipping a Parkerized SDS 1911A1 - what I got was a ZIG 1911 imported by Tisas.  Pics maybe tomorrow, our Sinister brought us something home from school, got over it & gave it to FW_wife & I.

So, Tisas, is this a Cerakote finish instead of Parkerized?  How can I tell?

Here is my 9mm duty railed.
Surprisingly smooth. The only thing it really needs is better sights. The thumb safety could be a little stiffer also.
Stopped by the range and shot 50 rds through it at lunch yesterday.

Sweet!

This has probably been brought up before, but with the flat mainspring housing, isn't this more of a 1911 Service, than it is a 1911A1 Service?

The 1911 didn't have the finger relief cuts in the frame.

I scored a 1911A1 Service Special off of GunBuyer.com. They were having an end of the year sale on this model, with a price of $309.99 + free shipping. I couldn’t pass up that deal!

I don’t see this particular model on Tisas’ website. Mine has a Commander style ring hammer, larger sights than the standard 1911A1’s and the ejection port is relieved. Mine came in a nice hard case with two 8 round mags (Not marked). The finish is kind of a grey/green. The trigger pull is 5.85 lbs and pretty crisp. I can’t wait to get it to the range!

Just picked up my first Tisas today... a 45acp Carry model.
Looks like a pretty nice little gun.
First 5 minutes of being home I swapped in the Hogue wraparound grip.
