The MAC looks better and more modern IMO, but that's not a huge deal to me. The Tisas slide looks pretty much like my 9mm Carry I believe, which is fine for the price.  Optic cut is excellent news, because I haven't been able to make myself spend the $200-300 to cut a $400 gun lol.

I guess I'll probably have a buy a 5" version of one of them now. Dang.

I made a post about my $400 dollar gun with a $150 optic cut.

Not in stock yet, of course, but SKU is showing $650'ish.

I think it this one: https://egunco.com/product/sds-mac-9mm-4.25-qpq-blk-double-stack-2-17rd

$891

Those are two different versions. The first is Tisas marked while the second is MAC.

Interesting, I had only seen the MAC branded one. I stand corrected

From the links posted above.

Tisas 1911 DS Series Pistols are compatible with Tisas® DS, Military Armament Corp.™ and other STI 2011™ Magazines.

Really liking the more traditional slide on the Tisas version.

Could be wrong but it looks like the MAC version has a bull barrel and the Tisas a standard bushing barrel?

Shoot. I'm not loving the slide cuts on that Night Stalker but factory threaded would be really nice. That one just popped to the top of my list to try.

Definitely just grabbed an x300T and 507k  for when this drops. My 2 Tisas 1911s have been nothing short of pure joy to shoot.

Visable MAC enhancements VS plain Tisas:

Bull barrel
Narrowed front of slide, for easier reholstering.
Fiber optic front sight.
One extra Picatinny rail tooth on longer dust cover.
Longer flat trigger.
Removable/Replaceable mag funnel.

The wider slide serrations on the MAC is more of a personal taste enhancement, IMHO.

I'm not the world's biggest 9mm fan but I'm probably going to have to buy one anyway.

Now.. If Tisas would just build these is .38 super or even .45 aarp.

They did a double stack Q&A on their SDSImports instagram page. It answered a lot of questions people are likely to have.

This might never get answered and might not matter to anyone other than me. But I figured I would still ask as someone brought up the different dust cover lengths above.

What is the distance from the front of the trigger guard to the front of the forwards most picatinny rail on the dust cover on the Carry B9r DS and the MAC 1911-9 DS?

Trying to see what lights will fit and really hoping my WILD2 will fit the Carry model as it has become my favorite pistol light.

You guys should also come out with a railed full dust cover version for both the full sized and carry model. Just sayin.

Yes. This would be perfect as I would love to not have to replace the barrel.

I didn't love my C2 Staccato, it was too large and I didn't think it justified the 2300.00 I paid for it. I'm wondering if I'll like the Tisas at 800.00.

Was hoping for a more Staccato CS sized gun thou. The 2011 mags are chonky and make Glock mags seem svelte in comparison.

I just sold a pair of Springfield Prodigy magazines (17rd & 20rd) and not being a 2011 guy, I was sort of shocked how chubby they were

Not just comparing them to a Glock 17 magazine, but a Hellcat Pro or Xmacro 17rd.

I jumped on the Staccato bandwagon for awhile ('19 P, C2, C2 Duo threaded, XC) and have ended up selling them all because of the magazines.  Too thick for 9mm.
I switched to a DWX Compact for a 1911'ish double stack 9mm.  It's been great.

But for under $800, I might grab a 4.25" Tisas and try again.

I used a Glock mag as a comparison because they are overly chunky for the capacity compared to even something like an M&P. When you look at the Hellcat Pro/P365xl the 2011 mags are downright obese.

Someone will fix that in the future. The grip size reduction should be significant.

I really jonesing for a full size DWX. How has the compact been?

We stopped counting after 5k rounds.  Mostly Federal American Eagle 147gr FMJ and Winchester NATO 124gr FMJ.  Three factory mags and four MecGar (CZ75 Compact with Henning baseplate) mags.
Haven't had a malfunction.  Clean and lube after each shooting session.

I've been carrying it in an ANR Design AIWB holster.  I'm trying to get work to order me a Staccato C2 OWB holster which should fit the DWX Compact.

The MAC DS looks pretty damn good. Add me to the list of people who want a full rail.

An enclosed comp model would really be my jam. 4.X” barrel, comp that matches the slide, and the rail running to the end of the comp. Something like the Staccato XC but not with the stupid single Picatinny slot.

If there’s any chance to drift away from 2011 mags that would be awesome too. Just about anything would be better.

Not a glowing review for the Girsan 4.25" version from the red beard.

Potential issues identified:
1. Says the trigger is 8 lbs
2. Says it malfunctions a lot.
3. The red dot it comes with is trash (no surprise there)
4. Built in mag well in the way for people with big hands.
5. Milled for the small dots, not RMR footprint.
