What stock is that on your Ruger? That's a nice looking set up. I thought I had spent enough on 22 silencers, thread jobs and stocks, but it looks like I might need a combo like this also.

Wreckdiver,
The stock is a Bell and Carlson Odyssey 2-way stock.  Works well and feels good in hand.  Action and barrel fit with little sanding required.  If you go with a Weaponkraft receiver retaining screw ask for the B&C longer version-- you will need it.

Nice peashooter. I like the SD look. What's the official ruling on the stock? Is the ranger hearing safe with a 10.5 barrel?

wreckdiver,

The AAC Ranger is definitely hearing safe enough to shoot without ear plugs outside, however on indoor ranges I still wear them.  I love the Magpul CTR stock and I am about to put one on my XCR with the new AR stock adaptor that Robinson Arms came out with.

That is one slick build. Did you have to use the adapter to get the suppressor to fit?

Thanks! Yes, I had to use the adapter, but it was easy to install.

A pair of AAC SCAR-SD's at the Tactical Response HRCC Prep Class last July.  My rifle (I'm on the right) ran beautifully.  My buddy's rifle has had a long life of extractor malfunctions.  This class was no different.  I didn't have a single weapon-related malfunction.  I had plenty of operator errors and one hard primer.  The cans were awesome during the class.

I have been saving for this package for several years now and its done (crossing fingers behind back)!  I am using a Bushmaster registered SBR lower that has a Compass Lake Engineering trigger.  Next is a quick detach can.  I havent made up my mind yet on that purcase yet on who is best to go with.  I like the idea of upgrading for 1/2 the retail price with AAC!  I will keep the TAC-16 as a dedicated suppressor for the 24" Varmit upper.

I also run the same can on one of my M15s:

I was thinking of picking up the new '07 762 SD. How does it sound on the AR? I've heard the usual "gas in the face" isn't as bad with a 30 cal can.

The 762 can on the M15 (5.56) is about 95 percent as effective as a dedicated 5.56 can.  Well worth the savings of not having to buy a dedicated can.  The dealer is the one who told me this and when I shot it on the 5.56 rifle and listened to other 5.56 rifles with dedicated cans, there is not much discernible difference.

As for the "gas in the face", you might be right because I didn't really noitce much at all with either the 7.62 rifle or the 5.56 rifle.

Get in touch with our very own Bookhound in the Georgia forum.  He will hook you up.

Scope is a Bushnell, but after taking the pic I robbed a 2x7x33 Leupold scope of one of my deer rifles for it.
