I have a Mini 14 that never gets used. Recently Ive been thinking about getting the barrel threaded so i can mount my M4-2000 to it. Is it worth suppressing? everything is worth suppressing......that being said, ive heard they are still loud. |

Three issues with the Mini-14:
1. The piston gas system vents some high pressure gases at the piston location, making it louder than an M16 direct impingement gas system. 2. With the increased bore pressure of a suppressor, the action opens faster and blows a little more crap into the shooter's face. 3. The barrel is pretty lightweight, and the weight of a suppressor will usually alter barrel vibrations enough to open the group a bit. This may be mitigated by looking at one of the current batch of really lightweight titanium suppressors and by using the correct match ammunition for the barrel twist. It is still quieter suppressed than non-suppressed, and it is not as bad as some of the other gas piston platforms. Hope this helps. |

I've suppressed a couple of them. I dont really care for it, though it is quieter obviously.
and they do spit back in your face pretty good. my avatar is actually a suppressed mini. as much as I hate to admit it, if I had it to do over again, I probably wouldnt worry about trying to suppress them. if you search youtube under my username you'll find a couple of vids with the minis registered SBR sidefolder with custom liberty suppressors can: 
barrel cut back to 16.25"
