All the pictures I've ever seen are AAC or FN's factory suppressor.

I wish, they are way easier to find than the AAC SCAR H SD.

Progress on the 17. Got the UID label, Tango grip, ditched the MREX for stock rails, MITER, Atlas bipod. Still need A2 grip, stock CH, safety. Form 1 was filed 2 months ago and last but not least need the damn optic which I can't decide on an Elcan or 2.5-10x24.

Does anyone have a picture of a SCAR 16 with a 18" barrel? Skimmed through the pics and didn't see one. I don't think I've ever seen a picture. Can't imagine it was ever produced in any large numbers because barrels over 16" fell out of favor by the time the SCAR entered production, but it would be interesting to see one anyways.

Hopefully they ran that safety wire in front of the charging handle on that top SCAR.

IIRC the person who snapped the photos said they were at some display. I’d imagine it was just to prevent theft at said event.

That's what I figured. It even looks like they might've ran safety wire through the receiver on the Mk20. Maybe to keep people from racking them as well.

Assuming you're going with Nightforce rings, the 1.375" are the minimum height I would consider to clear the BUIS (for reference, that is the height of the rings pictured in Kalmar's pic you quoted in the other thread), but the standard rubber rear flip caps will interfere with the BUIS depending how rearward you have the scope mounted.

I personally like higher-mounted optics and, were I to do it all over again, I'd get the 1.5" height.

Thanks! I was looking at the 1.375" height but I have realized the Geissele mount I was using is just about 1.5".

Anyone got clone optics suggestions? Literally the last thing I need for this build minus a PEQ15. I absolutely love my 3.5-15 F1 on my MK12 but I think it look's goofy as hell on the MK17. I have never tried an Elcan nor do I know someone who owns one and I've used the 2.5-10x24 and own one for my RECCE build but the chances of me scoring a Wilcox mount are second to none so I'm not really considering it unless I can get one. All 3 setups are pretty much priced closed together. Thoughts?

As shown on Kalmar's rifle.

It's a doctor red dot mount that replaces your top NF ring. Pretty rare to come by and pricey at that.

I see now, yes I read somewhere that a proper top ring half RDS mount for nightforce rings is non-existent? However given there actually is, but being made by wilcox then yes might as well be, so pricey I can only imagine.

That ain't no shit. A KAC collector/dealer friend gave me a NIW 3T as a gift since he knows I like KAC stuff but I never looked at them after I realized they were $3-400 back when they came out. Someone on here IM'd me within minutes of me posting a pic offering $800. Couldn't do it as it was a gift from a good friend though.

The PWS SRX is probably the most ubiquitous SCAR rail extension in service. Aside from being the first aftermarket handguard available, it's also relatively inexpensive, robust, and requires minimal modification to the host weapon.

Pretty much what I'm looking to do, but substitute the AAC shenanigans for Surefire. I can only assume that's an older FA762SS (ETA: it’s the FA762SV) suppressor/mount pulled from a Mk20 SSR.

The FH762SSAL/RE mount for the SS suppressor requires some additional work to index properly on the Mk17 barrel. Which leads me to believe that's a FA762SV suppressor and FH762SV-SCAR muzzle brake, as you suggested, most likely pulled from a Mk20. I've got one and contemplated using it on this build, but I'm still holding out hope that FN will release the SSR eventually.

The  FH762SV-SCAR  works fine with the old SS762 surefire can. that is what I use on my rifle.  The MB762SS muzzle brake requires work to fit to the scar barrel.  I've done it, but I had trouble keeping it tight enough and changed to the FA762SV flashider mount for better security.

Actually really diggin' that look too man. Putting the MITER on mine took away that huge barrel length in itself but this extension definitely helps.

Confirming that you are using a FH762SV-SCAR with a FA762SS Suppressor (pics always help).

I believe @stephen_101st confirmed the two compatible although the anti-rotation interface may be different.

That was a million years ago LOL.  I think all that info died when Lightfighter changed over platforms.  I did originally mount a MB762SSAL/RE to my SCAR-H using a modified jam nut that I rounded off until it fit under the extended tail of the muzzle adapter until it indexed and torqued as properly.  I knew this solution was probably not stable enough for the suppressor so when the FH762SV-SCAR adapter that indexes off the muzzle was available I switched them out.  These days my SCAR-H has a SOCOM300 SPS with the SFMB-762-5/8-24 on it.

I did the same thing to the original muzzle nut. Then switched to the scar specific muzzle device. Works perfectly. Just note the can will index on any tyne at the end of the FH. No one anti-rotation slot like the MB device.

I index for repeatable zero by making sure the can markings face up.
