Today? Nothing.
Last night though 300 44mag loads. A 240 coated swc over a load of cfe. In between a 44sp and 44mag power level. Should be in there at 1000fps and enjoyable for a classy new 4" Colt anaconda. Also tried the Lee collet crimp die which I think I may like better over the original fcd. |

Sized and trimmed 250 pcs of new 7.62x39 brass. Next step: wet tumble.

Picked up about 1000+ 9mm 1x cases off the range this week, and 500+ 1x .223 as well. Plus a few other calibers.
Acquired a fresh 8 lb jug of W748 powder for $200, which seemed too good to pass up. Shot up a bunch of my .223 reload culls- ones that did not pass the Dillon cartridge gage test. This means they might not chamber fully in a couple of my rifles, but will work fine in my Colts, so they get segregated and shot off at some point. OCD says use them up as soon as I get enough on hand, so I did…. Some of these were a bit long, but often it is just case rim dings that keep them from going fully into the gage. |

Loaded and tested 125 g Speer TNT’s with Blue Dot for 300 aac blk.
I have to say, it’s promising. Got down to 8 grains before I chickened out, but I fed 20 of them through an AR; 10.5” bbl. Full ejection and the bolt locked open. They’re shockingly quiet and running about 1,220. Quiet enough that I can’t see slowing them down anymore - the bolt slamming is alarmingly loud when the report of the pistol is that quiet. Starting load was 13g. Expected to run out of luck before I made it to 10g, and was utterly shocked when the 8g loads cycled the gun. I don’t know if 7g would run the gun, but I figure that would get the load below 1,100 fps. 125g Speer TNT Fed. GM205M srp 8g Alliant Blue Dot COAL: 2.100 |

After dialing everything in, I have primer feed issue. So back to the drawing board. |

300ish 158gr .38spl on the 750. I also got a couple of primers stuck a the pickup tube, Dillon is sending me a new one.
|
|

Filled the rest of my ammo can with 38spl, almost used all my brass. Also got shipping notification for my new pickup tube. Now I need to setup my 300 trimmer head, and get it dialed in. I only have a handful of prepped brass.

Picked up another 500 xtp 44 projectiles today since it looks like speer isn’t going to make gold dots again anytime soon.
Built the last wall of shelves in my new brass processing building. I should get the new bench finished saturday and it will be completely operational. |

3-d printed a new wrench thingy for my FA wet tumbler as the old one broke.
Wet tumbled a few thousand 9mm, and maybe 500 .223 cases. Went thru my Win #41 primers and found bad news on the lot numbers- they match some that people have had burn thru’s with…not cool. |

Shooter 709, past student, came over and we sized about 3k 223 win cases.
Using up the last of my Dillon lube bought 15 or so years ago. Have switched to the homemade lube which I like better because I use 99% alcohol. The Dillon lube looks like 70% alcohol was used. When mixed some lanolin flakes remain on the bottom of the bottle. My homemade does not do that. Anyway, I used my bench mounted Rockchucker with a Hornady sizing die/Hornady shellholder. He used my spare Rockchucker mounted on a 2x4 clamped into my 6 inch bench vice. Very secure no flex, Had a Dillon carbide sizing die, and used a Hornady shellholder. Got that Carbide die with my 1050 score, now that I have used it, I see why folks love them. Much smoother than my beloved Hornady sizing die. |

Sized 2-3 hundred .223 brass (Rockchucker and Lee dies).
Then trimmed (possum hollow kwick-trim) and cut primer crimps (hornady) the cases that needed it. Threw half that lot in the dry tumbler. Finished by loading about 80 .223 on the 550. A good productive evening |

Resumed attempting to tumble stuck powder out of some pulldown cases I bought.
Of the thousands upon thousands of pulldown cases I've used, these are the first to exhibit this oddity that didn't have tar-based sealant in the neck. |

Reloaded all the empty 5.56 & 9mm I created during this weekend's shooting. Good times!
It is eminently fulfilling to be turning what was 62gr FMJ into 62gr SP. Thank you American Reloading! |

Tumbled and dried a bunch of 44, 45lc, 223, 38 spl cases. Setup the 750 for 300 blackout trimming, need to get the trim die adjusted this week and fired up. Posted some reloading stuff on the EE.

Attached File Attached File Recently finished building a shed for reloading at the new house. Tore down my 550 which has been in storage for a couple years. Found some pretty good wear on the link arm shoulder pin. Primer cup is getting stuck on the primer housing as well! |

Sorted thru several 5 gallon buckets of brass, some was 15 some years old and had 9/40/45/38 all mixed in and telescoped together- what a pain. Wet tumbled a bunch and still going. Soon I will be done with any brass stored in my garage. (I won’t talk about the boxes and boxes of brass stored under the house, would like to feel like I actually accomplished something!)
Drying out my scrap brass/primers/.22 shells. Sometime soon hoping to go sell it to a recycling place. Have a fair amount. Went to a huge swap meet this weekend, a bit of gun stuff there but not much, most of what was there was over priced stuff like $30/100 steel cased 9mm. Spotted some 16 GA ammo, told my son about it as he was looking for some, and he has a keen eye and spotted a sealed 8 lb keg of HS-6 stashed amongst the guys other stuff that I had not seen…So I hurried back, $150 later and it was mine! Always helps to have a second set of eyeballs looking for deals. |

Got the 300 blackout trim head setup with the Mark 7 power trimmer. Wow, I did 400ish in a very short amount of time. That's the first time I've used the trimmer, I had been doing it by hand on a Wilson trimmer previously. I suppose now that I have done all my 300 blackout, I should setup the 223 head and go to town. Also took down some stuff yesterday on the EE and dropped the price on my easy dial.
