Besides tacked threads did you attemt google search? Or goto hogdon, alliant ,or powder comp in wich your using 99% has data. A very basic rule is never trust unpublished data. A responsible loader has a ever growing library of manuals buy the brand in wich you are using buy as many as you can find. For me and many others your library of manuals and data is your most important tool.

This is technical forum not a place to get spoon fed data or very basic info

not trying be jurk as we all.have done it at one time or other. These question get asked day in day out.

The mods spent great deal time developing and maintaining tacked threads read them all refer them first

good luck safe shoot'n

scout out

to all
i understand that i can get the data from hogdon's site

i looked on the site and could not find the load with a hornady fmjbt or another brand fmjbt, i did see the loads with the other bullets as posted, i however are not comfortable (have more to learn) using data from a different bullet than whati i have to load

can someone direct me to info , tech artical or something about that , in other words if i have a hornady full metal jacket 55 grain bullet , and use data from a say, speer 55 grain spitzer am i safe with the starting load

thanks , not trying to be a pain in the a** , just trying to learn safely

look at the picture posted above your post. The powder measurement is the same for all those bullets, the only difference is the seating depth. The bullet on the bottom right is the info you need. It is for BT FMJ W/C, Boat Tail, Full Metal Jacket, With Cannular.

ETA: also, keep in mind, the seating depth given is the minimum. It can be longer, so long as it still feeds from you magazine, and chambers in your weapon without contacting the rifling in the barrel.

Look at my post above, that's directly out of my Hornady load book.  In order to learn, you should ensure you have 1 or 2 different load books and read them.   They'll tell you how the different bullets compare also.  Also look for a book called the ABC's of reloading.  I'm fairly new to reloading also but start there and you'll see what's what.  From what I know, follow the load data for the SPR SP and you should be good to go for a FMJ.

thank you for the reply's

i do have the abc's of reloading and can not find anywhere or in any other book where it talks about using load data from (like ) bullets and how to do safely, i have the lyman manual which only shows a 55 grain jacketed spt using a start load of 24.3 grains ,max load of 27.0 coal of 2.260, definatly hotter charge than hornady ,except the seating depth is longer
and will get the hornady manual soon
