So I am curious what type of carpet did you use for your gun room?  I am shopping for ideas.   Really leaning towards the carpeted look.

Where did you get it, how do you like the end result, and what does it look like?

I have not done the gun room yet, but my reloading area will be hard surface to make cleaning spilt powder and dropped primers easier.

Would that be smelly and retain moisture?

Gun safes are lined with fabrics/carpets, many vault rooms are.

Many uses outdoor or some sort of marine carpet.  I'm leaning more towards marine carpet.

The carpet I'm referring to isn't your average homes shaggy rugs... it's something more along the lines of this:

I've seen those, but it still doesn't appeal. I'd pad rests, but not the whole room. I like the idea of pegs too, so it's modular and easy. But I've been accused of having an aversion to nice things, so take my opinion with a grain of salt.

If that occurs you shouldn't be storing your guns there in the first place.

If your not expirianced with rolled carpet either gluing or stapling to the wall, I'd do something like these carpet squares that are peel and stick. Install in a 1/4 turn for a unique checker board look. I would install it over 3/4" plywood so you can screw into it without needing anchors like a Sheetrock wall would.

I was thinking of the tiles, not sure how I would like the checkerboard look and they might be harder to bend around corners.
