@chase45

I just realized that your comb is set for a righty, but the scout light is in a southpaw configuration. How will you plan on activating the light? Are there more changes to come, ie tape switches?

Correct

I'm planning on doing some switches on the left side. I got one for the laser setup now. But will have to work on a solution for the light.

Mlock is actually a new thing to me so I'm trying to take in all the options available. It's a little bit overwhelming actually lol.

But add switches and probably a small handstop. Maybe some rail scales. Then off for a m81 camp job

Very nice. As a former Force Recon Bubba, I'm the original M81 whore, so looking forward to the final product. Good luck!

Check out the UNITY TAPS SYNC and UNITY HOT BUTTON solutions for your light/laser combo. Depending on which variant of the TAPS you choose, you'd have the option of activating both your light and laser simultaneously with a single button press. Since you already have an onboard IR illuminator, I understand that this might not be important to you. The Mlok system is very easy to use and saves quite a bit of time/weight. You'll figure it out in no time.

I love it, but you are negating some serious tacticool points with that Paul Bunyan sling... They'll see you coming from a mile away!

Great use of the Rail Scales.

Build Update - 02/26/23:

Pic heavy post below. I'm really liking the new Midwest forend with the full length picatinny rail. The EFLX is nice, with much clearer glass than the DPP. The Form rifle stock takes everything to a whole new level. Not going to fuck with this one much more, unless the optic craps out and I need to switch back to the DPP. I'll have to see what I want to do with the other rail. Maybe throw it on my Marlin Dark 336 Scout build. Enjoy...

So I got an new rail mount for my two lever guns. I only have pics of one right now.   They are Marlin's, one 1894 in 357 and a 30A in 30-30.

I've Boyds stocks on both, and the new Skinner lever gun light mounts. I did drill and tap the mount to add front side QD sling mounts. It came out really nice.
Consider the Skinner mount one of the best upgrades you can do if you do NOT want a complete rail system on your classic.

Henry Big Boy X with wood furniture. .357/.38. Farrowtech optic mount/Aimpoint micro. Removed irons. 3 lug SiCO Octane
Nagant revolver with threaded extension, AAC Tirant 9, drilled and tapped strap for Vortex Venom.

The Nagant is about your only wheelgun suppressor option with the sealed cylinder. Unique setup and perfect sidearm to accompany the time lost Henry.

Your pic didn't load, but I can't wait to see the final product! Check out Arisaka Defense for some really intuitive handstops and index points. Their picatinny rail sections are also the lowest profile ones that I've found on the market. Top quality stuff.

You won't be disappointed. Will is good people and makes good products.

For photo upload, try the Imgur app. It's free and gives you a fool proof link that you can paste in. I set all of my pic uploads to private so that nobody can view them, unless I provide the link.

Outside checking out the setup. I have an XS rail inbound and expect to move my OTAL-C IR and Surefire light over to this for .38 spl night thumping.

I REALLY like the EOtech on this one.

Played around with the light setup and added the otal. The offside looks like crap, but once I get the cable management figured out it will be dang sweet.

It probably is a little wonky, but it's not a noticeable issue. The center of the light beam is in the ballpark of where it's supposed to be if that makes any sense.

What stitch is that paracord wrap on your lever?  It seems to be all the hotness these days unlike the old cobra stitch on mine.

One question.  Has anyone actually used any of these creations in a combat situation.  Looks like a lot of weight and complication for no real gain.

Not sure of the stitch, but there are plenty of tutorials on YouTube on how to do it. It's pretty easy.

There's even a kit on Amazon that can be purchased for $10...

Well speaking for myself, I haven't used ANY type of weapon in combat.

I use my lever action for hunting and fun, and because of its reliability, accessories and ease of use I'd have zero qualms using it in a defensive situation.

Combat situation?... I sure hope not. Lever guns, including our "Tactical" creations here, would be wildly inefficient in modern-day combat. You'd be heavily outgunned by any adversary. (Having served in a special operations capacity in Iraq, I've witnessed the imbalance of war first-hand... It's always better to be on the side that is better equipped. )

Personally, my tactical lever actions accomplish a few things... They're fun to build and look cool. (We all know that looking cool is the #1 rule of being "tactical." Lol.) They're also fun to shoot, hunt, and train with. The training component is the most important consideration for me in the event we see an extreme tyrannical overreach in our lifetime that relieves us of our evil, black "assault rifles." Although wildly inefficient in comparison, I want to maintain the same capabilities with a simple firearm as I do with my M4's... Red dot optics, IR lasers, white/IR illumination, etc... Sort of my take on the old "Better to have it and not need it, than need it and not have it" adage. Weight was not a consideration when putting my builds together, but they're really not much different than a fully decked-out M4. Also, did I mention that these are fun...

Now, no more pissing in the proverbial picture thread corn flakes, please!
