Great build. Welcome to the family! View Quote I did the handguard install myself. Although harder than something like this should be, the installation was fairly straight forward. Just make sure to follow the instructions. I had to do quite a bit of lapping on the tenon in order for it to fit my dovetail. |

Bought a DPP NV, removed Henry Rail (too tall), added Skinner Plate and DPP NV. Much lighter than that giant SRS. |

I’m bouncing back and forth on buying a set of wood just for the stock. If I do that, I’ll have someone more competent than I do the QD sockets (I’m a southpaw and so I have one on each side). |

A bit nerve wracking the first time but it was a nothing burger. Make sure you get good quality QD sockets, sucks to glue in a chinesium one and have it get boogered up. Grovtec makes quality steel QD sockets. Get a 1/2 inch Forster bit and the appropriate tap(9/16-something I believe). Make sure it is a bottoming tap. Degrease the QD so glue will stick to it. Drill, tap, and glue them in. |

Rifle looks great, by the way. I'll have to load some more pics soon, myself... I just installed Form rifle stocks with adjustable cheek risers on both of my Marlin Dark builds. I'll be trying out the new EOTech EFLX sight on the 1895, as well. |

I wanted a big boy X or a Marlin Dark. Marlins are out of production and doubt you will find one without a premium. I could only lay my hands on a 45LC in a Henry which was real tempting. Found the citadel for $230 less than the Henry so decided to jump on it. I've probably got more components for LC than 357 but most of it is lead ball and probably won't play well with the suppressor. |

I’m sure glad there’s a video for the ranger point install.
I’ll toss on the hybrid and give it a whirl this weekend. (45LC) Attached File |

RPP rimfire handguard on 16" Henry .22. It sure wasn't a 4 minute install like the video, I'm not even done yet because the new cross screw in the new barrel band is too long. Tighten it down and the handguard is off to one side, don't and the whole thing is loose. I also had to remove the receiver cover, ended up flaking some of the finish off. Does anyone duracoat these?
Attached File Attached File Attached File It feels a lot better in my gorilla hands and it'll be nice to have a light and side sling mount on it. I had no intent on doing this to this rifle, the plan was to get a mares leg and tac that out. |
