Been thinking about one mostly for the size factor.  Also, I have a wife and daughter so the recoil factor seems like it would be better.  Anything else that I should look at with size being the primary factor?  Anything else near that size (19.1in)?  Thanks

Yeah, look at ammo cost. A 10.5" AR is near that size.

I guess that I should have added that this would not be my first sbr.  I have an 11.5 and 10.3 AR.  10.3 is over 27 inch with the stock where I like.

Agree with above. Lately can find the FN SS197SR ammo for $17.99/50 (.36/pr)with free shipping occasionally.

I bought a PS90 Tri-Rail way back in 2007... Never shot it... Couldn't bring myself to shoot the 16" barrel... SBRd it in 2014 when SBRs were allowed in WA State...and FINALLY I was able to shoot it last weekend.  WOW.. Its freakin fun.. Flat shooting round...just enough recoil to make it feel more than a pea shooter.  No gas in face/blowback when suppressed.....and it still feels like an SBR even with a supressor... DO IT!

If there was a way for me to load 5.7x28 on a progressive press (the primer exit hole on most presses is almost as large as the 5.7's case head), I'd be all over the PS90.

My dad loads for our PS90s successfully with a RCBS progressive press set up.  Works great.

You're in luck, there is.  I reload 5.7 on a Dillon 550.  It costs a little more than other calibers to tool up for, but since the ammo tends to be ridiculously overpriced, the savings are pretty massive if you shoot much. The shell holder was about $80, as I recall, as Dillon won't support the caliber and last time I checked there was one guy that made them... but dies were easy to find, and my loads have worked well.

I have a mini-uzi, and a PS90 SBR.  The PS90 is shorter (when shooting from the shoulder, obviously).  While I'm not a huge fan of 5.7 as a caliber, the gun is pretty cool, and you'd be hard pressed to find something shorter, lighter, or easier to shoot.

I also recently took up reloading for the 5.7 (to feed my PS90 SBR...super fun setup) using my 550b for priming/powder/seating operations. Very straight forward if you read up on how to protect the lacquer and already have strong reloading knowledge/experience.

I have always loved the design, but I didn't want to add another caliber to the stable... So I decided to get a 10/22 with an HTA 90/22 stock instead. Should be fun. I'm waiting for a F1 to come back on it...

I just built a 11.5" AR SBR, but my next SBR will either be a 9mm AR or a P90. A buddy has a P90 SBR and that thing is a blast to shoot. If ammo cost was better I would built one a lot sooner. It's light and every female loves shooting his, even with a Gemtech Halo attached.

Regarding ammo costs....i've seen AE 5.7x28 go for about $0.27-$0.30/rd and blue tip SS197SR going for about $0.36...all shipped pricing.  These ain't 22LR prices but are comparable to high gr 9mm or even M855.

17.99/box plus free shipping for 10+ boxes of the blue tip from PSA. They have been running that pretty often the last 3-4 months at least

With a laser.

Is it okay to just put it on the plastic frame?

Anybody remember how the manufacturer is listed on their approved from 1? Looks like there is two or three that could apply from the drop down menu and I want to make sure it's correct.

You guys need to stop posting pics!  The only P90 I've ever shot was a factory full-auto and it was fun.  Don't make me build a P90 SBR......

I have a SBR PS90 that I did about 6 years ago.  I think I have shot it maybe half a dozen time over the preceding 6 years and am still working off the original 1000rd case of ammo I bought with the original host gun back in probably 2008ish.

Nothing wrong with it per say, but they are a bit ergonomically challenging being so small and obviously it isn't one of my favorite guns given how often I dig it out from the back of the safe.

I don't think there is anything else out there as compact as an SBR PS90. (maybe an SBR MP5k or CMR-30?)

I have and SBR PS90 and for me it's an expensive fun toy (everyone who shoots it has a blast), but I also think it would be a good defensive weapon for a small sized person.
