Haven't posted mine in a while.

Semi-potato picture...

It's an EARLY (sub 75 s/n) ACR, lol... bought it pretty much the week they came out... but it's had some upgrades:

Barrel Shortened to 14.5 by ADCO
Geiselle ACR Trigger
Factory Folder to Replace the Fixed
2nd Gen MBUS Sights
Right-Side Nexus Tactical Stubby Safety

&most recently

V2 Brass Deflector
55 Degree Safety Core (Thanks @DKamps!)

Here's mine.  Barrel just came in today.  Had Templar Precision swap the M4 style it came with for a new, thinner profiled barrel and take off the AAC flash hider and add my DSA titanium A2 bird cage.

Way better imo; looks even more modern, streamlined.

Way more contemporary looking and possibly even lighter?

She lost a little more than 5 oz, which was a bit more than the optic weighed.  So about a full red dot's worth of weight.  It feels so much less front heavy now.  And that was without doing anything radical or permanent changes.  Handguard: Enhanced Quadrail -> Midwest Industries M-lok.  Barrel M4 -> Straight profile.  Muzzle device: AAC 51 -> DSA titanium A2 Birdcage.  Every part was lighter than it's predecessor.  IMO, Bushmaster can still go lighter on their barrel profile.  A lot lighter.  Comparing it to my XCR lightweight barrel and it's almost twice as thick.  The XCR is also all metal while the ACR is half plastic, yet the ACR weighs more.

Not too much going on... Super ACR trigger, TA47 red triangle w/Larue mount.

Oh... and it’s two-tone.

I took the ACR with 12.5" barrel to the range yesterday.  I need to put some effort into getting this thing on a diet as it would be great if it were a bit lighter.  I'd like to hear some thoughts on how to lighten things up; mine is pretty much stock with the exception of the chopped barrel.

Cheers

Love the pics of the ACRs everyone! I thought this was the coolest darn rifle when it was first announced, and I wanted one so badly when it was first released. Was super disappointed when the rifle failed to take off and when Remington ultimately decided to stop supporting it. I thought this the evolution of the infantry rifle, and was hoping it was going to be adopted by the military, particularly in 6.8, but alas it was never meant to be. I am happy to see there is some love for it out there.

@sanman28

Can the hand guard be swapped out for the enhanced version or any others. Are all the pistols 1/7 twist and chrome lined barrels? I’m on the fence but really wanting to buy an ACR pistol to form 1.

Thanks

ACR barrels only come in 1/7 twist now; been that way for several years (ever since they actually released the different length 5.56 barrel kits).

Were they ever? I thought people were using them off a specific airsoft model.

In any event, I wouldn't be SBR'ing mine if they made long handguards.

No, they never existed. That is an airsoft handguard he has on that rifle. Many people have been using those as well as the airsoft version of the Remington Defense handguard.

It's just a Manfrotto 190XPRO.  If I could afford an RSS, I'd go that route.  The mount is a Pig Saddle from Shadowtech, but you might be happier with the Hog Saddle.

Haven't had this out of the safe in a while, and sadly, its been years since I've shot it.  One of these days I'll get around to SBRing it.

2500 SN range Windham gun
Barrel cut and profiled by ADCO
Geissele SSA trigger
RPM hand guard
Templar folding charging handle
QD swivel mount at the back of the receiver I got from a guy on the ACR forums
Added Grov Tec rotation limited QD swivel cups in the stock.

I didn't feel like sending it back for the new gas regulator way back when, so I added a vented set screw in the gas vent hole.  It's run 100% both suppressed and unsuppressed since.

Latest pictures.

Ilion-built coyote rifle, 14.5" pin/weld barrel, RPM short handguard, Holoson circle/dot MRDS, RRA match trigger.  Have a DMR barrel, MI long handguard, and cerakoted DMR stock to convert it to the DMR rifle.  Started life as the basic folder with the gross 16" M4 barrel and terrible trigger.

Hunstville-built pistol, 10.5" barrel, factory MLOK handguard, Sig Romeo5 MRDS.  Going to drop an eForm1 for it soon.  The trigger is a HUGE improvement over what came on my first one, don't feel like it needs changed out.

They made a lot of progress with it from 2016 to 2020.  Too bad Remington screwed it over.

That coyote rifle is about perfect in my eyes.  Believe it or not I’ve always had a soft spot for the original Magpul handguard.  That’s about all I would change.
