I finally received my order of parts from RTG and my wide handguard w/bipod does not fit my PTR-91...it's too long. His website didn't indicate the handguard would not fit my PTR-KF??? Any ideas???

Bravo

You need a HK93/HK33 wide forearm.
The bipod is the same for both 91/93.

Well, I don't mean to sound rude but as the purchaser of the rifle you should have known the K models are shorter length gas tubes/barrels and therefore wouldn't work with normal length HK91/PTR91 handguards. I can almost assure you he will refund you money, minus a restocking fee...

Below are all HK93/33 handguards

Here is one for sale at HKpro:
http://www.hkpro.com/forum/showthread.php?t=96234

and another here same price $50:

brand new for $115!!:

Yes...I feel like an idiot already...thank you for reinforcing that thought. Robert at RTG could save himself some ass pain by posting SPECIFICS on his products.

I've registered in HKPro.com and found another HK 93 handguard. I'll go that route.

If I keep the current handguard/bipod can I remove the bipod from the 91 handguard and place it on the 93 handguard. I assume so if it has the slots but...assuming got me into this situation to begin with.

That's why we ask beforehand ;)

Yes, the shorter HK93/33 handguard does have the bipod slot, and as mentioned by the other guy your bipod WILL fit. Just sell the handguard afterwards, someone always wants one.

I "almost" made the same mistake too if it makes you feel better...the people here informed of the correct handguard. Impulse creates problems...warp speed can be achieved with advanced knowledge, just ask Spock :)

Was it advertised as  working on "HK91/G3, PTR91, FMP, SAR3/8 and clones"?  If so, then Robert was specific...it was you who ordered a part for a gun you didn't own (PTR91K).

You aren't an idiot for ordering the incorrect part, but your tone belies some frustration.  You should probably re-think directing that frustration at a company who gave you the specific part you ordered.

+1

Mine just came in today and it fits my sar8 great!  But then again, it was made for that rifle.

not to add salt to the wound.....but just looking at the RTG site.....he was pretty specific

Will work on HK91/G3, PTR91, FMP, SAR3/8 and clones.  Will also work on the Cetme with minor fitting.

HKparts.net has them.  They're about halfway down the page with the rest of the handguards.

Edited to add - nevermind, I see they are a bit different.

Link to vented "short" wide handguard...don't know if it's the one pictured above(angled vents), or the one the guy is asking about with the horizontal vents.

Thanks guys.  I picked up the vented hand guard from David in a different ad.

She looks real nice in vents.

Negative1,

Where did you get your hand guards?  I am looking for one for my PTR-91 with a 16" barrel.
The one that came with it is cheap and I cannot stand it.  I am having a difficult time trying to find one.
Thanks for your assistance!!!
