is that the mythical remington 10.4 rail?
|

Hi, I'm Brad. Sadly that name was already taken

I’m more interested in the NGAL sitting on that 416...

Anyone have one of Marvin's barrels in any flavor yet? Accuracy?

There is a thread on HKPro about them. Guys are reporting very good accuracy.

A little help please, if I were to clone a 416 where would you recommend I start? I seem to remember Brownells having parts kits awhile back but last I checked I think those were gone. Thanks

Accuracy seems good thus far, though I only managed to get it to the range to zero it, nevertheless, was putting one hole on top of the previous one at 25 yards when zeroing it. Next chance I get, I'll take it out to a hundred yards. Functions really great, both suppressed and unsuppressed. On HkPro, Beth from Nefarious Arms spoke to different combinations of buffer spring and buffer, with different function rates between combinations, that would vary between suppressed and unsuppressed fire. However, using the spring/buffer combo that came with the MR556 upper, I had no issues with either setup. YMMV, but I'm pleased so far, and will have a better idea once I get a chance to shoot 100-300 with it. May take me a couple of weeks, though, got a lot on my plate. That said, one thing to note, there were a lot of delays from pre-order to delivery. Supposed to take a couple of months, went on about 9 months from deposit to delivery. If he still has them in stock, may not be an issue, but if it's another run, be prepared to treat it like an NFA wait. |

You've got a big budget for this project, right? |

Was really looking at how they compare to the 416 CL barrels. There's some hit or miss info on Pro and not really any full on reviews, just figured I'd ask here too. |

Thanks View Quote Build it with a Nefarious Arms barrel mated to Brownells parts or just buy a real-deal 416 upper and put it on a Lower-either MR556, Brownells or go the crazy route and engrave a blank and machine and anodize your own to get a normal A5 magwell. |

Thank you for the help everyone. I understand it’s a baller expense.
I have a MK18 clone and so I’m used to stupid prices, though the 416 dream makes the MK18 look cheap. |

How feasible is it to build a 416 clone using the Brownells upper and lower receivers?
Are the upper parts (bolt, carrier, barrel, gas block, piston assembly) hard to find? Where does one find them? And are there any off brand names one should stay away from as far as barrels go? |

I've got a question for you guys. Has anyone owned both the MI rail and the G rail? How do they compare? The MI rail is nice but it has a weird shape....very tall/narrow. I don't mind it but I would like a rail that isn't so long but covers the gas block.

I'm also curious about this. Short of buying an original 416 kit for about $4000+, you've missed the boat on this. Even though some parts are pretty cheap (I got a lower at Brownells the other day for under $200) There are certain parts you can't find right now. Also, there are some clone parts out there (barrels and gas blocks), aftermarket rails, etc... but real HK parts tend to be $$$$. I started with an MR556, and I rebarreled it, then the extra barrel sort of started growing into a new upper...but I can't find a bolt carrier or op rod... and I'm going to cheat and use non-HK parts in my lower. Buy an MR556. It will be cheaper, I promise. |

The process is nothing special, it’s finding someone who will do that’s the hard part (I had this done over three years ago, and spent an additional two years before that researching it, and the guy that did it is no longer accepting new work). As for more pictures, not to engage in the shameless self promotion, but there’s a good number on my Instagram @augee_kim , I float around on the forums, but nowhere near as much now as I did in the past, but photographs are around here and there over the years. ~Augee |
