They are de facto banning Suppressors by making host firearms illegal to own.

Banning all rifles and pistols with threaded barrels...

Gotta keep those deadly flash hiders and barrel shrouds out of the state.

Yep. Basically. But from what I read in this, there is nothing specifically withdrawing CO from the NFA. I have a Turbo K on the way. I'm worried its under threat. I hope it clears very fast for me.

From my understanding, yes. They can be sold out of state, but not out of state to another Coloradoan.

(XIII) ANY PART OR COMBINATION OF PARTS DESIGNED OR

11 IN THIS SUBSECTION (2).

This item is my major stress point. Any part? So all flash hiders, compensators, uhh, stocks? Trigger parts? Barrels?

Bro. I think this is doom. and im not being hyperbolic.

That'll be news for cops. And SWAT.

Also re-read the entire thing. Not one word about grandfathering. This kills sales, not sure about possession. I'm not sure where they're saying it grandfathers shit.

I know it was said in committee, but a lot of things were said. If it's not in the bill, it doesn't exist.

ETA reread it again. Nothing about grandfathering or current possesion. It is just "A

NFA doesn't matter in this case, the bill currently defines "assault weapon" as any semi-automatic weapon as well as any parts to assemble a semi-automatic weapon - Yes even your semi-auto waterfowl shotgun pinned to 2 is an assault weapon

Luckily my .460 S&W is safe and non-assaulty but due to the "sensitive places" ccw restriction bill I can't carry it most places in the city to fend of crackheads

The bill text is here, everyone should read it to see and understand the lunacy the dems are trying to sign into law

Yeah I don't see how that can be included in a bill. Does the governor have a line-item Veto?

Could the CO supreme court determine this law to be unconstitutional?

Ugh, this is just terrible:
) ASSAULT WEAPONS ARE NOT SUITABLE FOR SELF DEFENSE AND
16 ARE NOT WELL-SUITED FOR HUNTING, SPORTING, OR ANY PURPOSE OTHER
17 THAN MASS KILLING;

Well that's funny. I've never killed anyone or anything. I must be using them wrong?

There is no reason why they couldn't be "well suited" for hunting or "sporting" whatever that means.  Target shooting? 3-gun competition? AR-15 not suitable for self-defense yet every SWAT and tactical unit as well as many Game Wardens and Park Rangers have one.

Page 4, section 2c:
(c) IT IS CRITICAL TO LIMIT THE PROSPECTIVE SALE OF ASSAULT
24 WEAPONS AND ACCESSORIES, WHILE PERMITTING EXISTING LEGAL OWNERS
25 TO RETAIN THE ASSAULT WEAPONS THEY CURRENTLY OWN

Nice grab. I missed that. But yeah its just sales at this point.

I must be using all of mine wrong too.

What they fail to answer is, the 2nd amendment doesn't say "the right to keep and bear arms to hunt deer or whatever else liberals haven't banned hunting on".

That lady who was BEGGING the assembly to "regulate us more", she has to be a plant. She has to be. I doubt she owns a single gun. I hope she COC's herself for that incredibly disgusting testimony.

Just an FYI, though im sure you know this by now, this bill does outline possession of trigger devices.

That being said. Maybe give USA Liberty Arms in Fort Collins a call. They carry Franklin stuff.

Sends illegal immigrants in large quantities  with government issued guns . to shoot at you in your own home for disobeying an unconstitutional law.

This is crazy.

Pistol - OK for self defense
Pistol with threaded barrel - no self-defense purpose

What's wild is:

The VAST majority of handguns involved in "gun violence" do not have threaded barrels
The VAST majority of firearms used in "gun violence" would not be classified as "Assault Weapons"

I drive through that every week to get groceries (I shop in Wyoming to not pay the absolutely fucked taxes in Colorado, and it's the same distance for shopping in Laramie as it is to Fort Collins either way).

That land is...barren, man. Windswept high plains desert. That's why its 5k/acre. Its not a pleasant place to live at all. I assume you're talking about the Tie Siding/Buttes area.

All of the AWBs are clearly in violation of Bruen though. I think SCOTUS is giving the lower courts a chance to do the right thing and apply Bruen themselves, since that's not their job. If they refuse to, SCOTUS can still step in.

I think this is the thing here, killing sales.  It's been said a lot over the years on this site that the left is good at playing the long game, and they will do things like this.  This is speculation on my part, but they can easily say "We're letting you keep what you have, and even give them to heirs. You don't have to register them either.  We're just banning sales, so we're letting you keep and bear arms, just like the 2nd says."  This is exactly how the liberals I know think.  People play word games, and twist things however they can to justify things.  This is a step by step process.  In time, registration will be mandated, then confiscation and criminalization.

And it will be easy for them to make the argument:

We did this, and we still have violence. Better do more.

Instead of recognizing the fact that what they did in the first place didn't help the problem.

Those taxes are going to flip soon. Wyoming us trying to pass a sales tax increase and eliminate property taxes...

Agree. I am a peaceful person. That has little to nothing to do with being "law-abiding." The people who hid Anne Frank were not "law-abiding" and they should be commended for it.

Not quite. When this state was more purple 12-14 years ago, the Rs picked stupid hills on which to die (we all know what they were). That turned-off many unaffiliated voters. That needs to be owned. I was very involved in my county's R Party and correctly warned them, but the RINO-theocrat echo chamber didn't want to hear from someone who is consistent on issues of liberty. In the meantime, this state became further infested while the CO GOP became more disfunctional. Now here we are.
