Yep, this thread is pretty old...In the first post I was just thinking about reclassing and now i'm on my second deployment as an EOD team leader.  6 years is a long time.  I think I was a PFC or a new specialist when I posted that.

When I was a young, just turned 22 years old, Staff Sergeant running a rifle squad in Iraq in '07.  We just assaulted and took this makeshift rooftop machine gun position in early morning hit. Homemade MG pintle sans gun behind me.

Gereshk?  Looks familiar. I hated doing RONs there with the birds coming and going all night.
I did route clearance arond there on on routes blue and trident. Ramrod. Sangin, Gereshk, Nad E Ali etc usw
