I picked up this in a trade over the weekend and can’t seem to find too much about it online. I think it might be a Brownells/Czechpoint collaboration due to the wood furniture but the images in Brownells don’t show the rifle being the same color. It’s in basically new shape and the wood is gorgeous but I can’t stand the gray color. Couple questions:

1: if I decide to sell what should I ask?
2: if I decide to keep would having it professionally repainted impact it negatively? I don’t know much about vz58’s and wouldn’t want to ruin something that might be a unique batch or a one-off.

Any help much appreciated.

Thats the normal color for a Vz58.

Yep, that’s the proper color as issued to the Czech army.  Much more desirable to purists like me.

What would be a reasonable asking price?

It may fetch as high as $2k on GB. That looks like wood furniture and not the impregnated wood beaver barf. The wood furniture easily goes for $200-300, optic mount is about $100, $100 for what looks like a primary arms optic. The CSA rifles go for $1500 all day I great shape. I wouldn’t refinish it, looks factory and in great shape. I’d let it go for $1700 obo.
