That thing looks awesome. Is it true that the owners manual tells you to take it to the dealer for the most mundane maintenance stuff?

Very nice. I'll let you know the things (minor) I don't like about mine. The foot pegs are fine around town but, I can feel the lip through my boots after a couple of hours. I've since replaced the pegs (Sprint Manufacturing) which has fixed that issue. I also find the seat uncomfortable after an hour or so of highway riding. Weirdly it doesn't bother me at all riding around town. I have a Corbin seat on order. Finally, lack of cruise control. Come on Triumph. You market this as a sports tourer. At least offer the option.

Like I said, these are minor issues. I still love the TS660.

I've noticed the footpeg lump.  Lol. The seat hasn't been a problem yet, but I can see that it would be on a long trip.  The lack of CC kinda of annoys me, but I can't miss something I've never had on a bike before.  I am hoping that someday they will add cruise if it hurts sales enough, shouldn't be out of the question with a throttle by wire bike. So far I am loving it!

This is one of the more frivolous things I've done in my life....

I'm currently on a business trip from FL to WI in support of a USAF training exercise.  In typical corporate fashion, my company got a total of 3 rental cars for the entire maintenance crew.  Unless I want to go out drinking every night, I'm basically stuck at the hotel for the next 27 days without any transportation.

Screw. That.

I went out and bought my new-to-me 2016 Road King and told them to cancel my return flight.

I now have transportation, and I should earn another Iron Butt patch on the ride home

One month away and 1137 miles to get home.  I left WI on Thursday and pulled into the driveway on Friday.  Made it back safely but I missed my Iron Butt by 2 hours due to the 100+ degree heat wave.  I had to stop about every hour to hydrate and cool off—heat stroke is no joke and I’d rather get home safely than get another 1k patch.

But now I have a 1st world problem……it’s not ‘will I ride?’  It’s‘which one will I ride?’Attachment Attached File

(I swapped out the windshields and tour pack from the 07 to the 16 yesterday—color match is better than expected)

IMO, Triumph will end up doing a 765 RS version of this bike with up-spec everything. It’s selling too well and they will want a piece of the FJ-09 market. That means cruise control, suspension, IMU electronics and at least cruise control if not radar based cruise control like the FJ has now.

Violence on two wheels.

You chose violence.

Friend has a SuperDuke GT. Thats what I think every time I ride it. Without the electronics it would be a death machine. So...perfect.

....and apparently it's not enough violence.  Looks like KTM has a 1390 coming out in the near future.

True, but it's can be very forgiving around town and commuting too, its all in what you give it!  With a few fueling mods its really smooth on/off throttle and down low with lots of torque on tap all the time.

But that violence is just a twist away!

My most recent acquisition, a 1988 Yamaha DT50LC. These were sold alongside the YSR50, which I had two of. This one only has 487 miles and doesn’t run so I am assuming carb problems and an easy fix. We’ll see:

When your hanging out at your friends machine shop, and someone gives him a old rolling chopper chassis.

It's actually street legal. Mass alcohol was involved. Harley transmission, and a 15 HP electric or rope start motor.

His place looks like a motorcycle museum. His daily rider is a 1943 Indian.
