Nice I been thinking of fixing my impala again, but I should remind myself I know better
Very cool!!!
I really like the 85 mph speedo! ETA I have an '87 Mustang GT with one too! It's really funny to watch the speedometer go around! |
Nice, now i can list it on ebay, seeing how i got all these pics and a vin number
Hehe... Already done... Pics were taken about a month ago. |
Whatever floats yer boat... I've still got the car and title. |
People post and compare VINs on car sites all day long, with zero repercussions. Same with masking gun serial numbers, don't believe the bullshit. Nice car man! |
Quite a car for 1986.
... but it can't be that fast because the speedo tops out at 85 mph! |
Nice car! thanks for the pics.
However, I'm calling BS on the 105MPH pass. I mean, the speedo only goes to 85! Just yankin' your chain. I once had a REAL tough time getting away from a GNX on my Ducati Monster. Those turbo 3.8s really haul the mail! |
I can post a pic of the timeslip if you REALLY want me to... Being that all the runs I've made over the years have primarily been 8-9 second passes, a 12.83 run was like going to the grocery store for a jug of milk. |
nice, this would fit in well in the cars & bikes forum where there is a thread on sleepers and the related grand national is being discussed. We really could use more traffic in that forum!! *hint hint wink wink nudge nudge*
One of my buddies has a friend with a GNX. Apparently he builds engines for them, I think his best time is in the 7's or REAL low 8's.
yes, but now you've gone over to the dark side of Turbos and intercoolers |
Actually, I think in '86 or '87 the Turbo Regal was declared the fastest US production car made. Mine is 1 of approx 1,921 T-types made in 1986... |
Wow... talk about a sleeper. Will it beat a 5.6 stock IROC? Those were good numbers at the track.
Hey Mod... I seldom stray from the GD forum... THAT'S why I posted it there.... No g-damn wonder I couldn't find it anymore... Oh nevermind... |
Very nice T Type. I have always loved them and the GN's. But the T Type was even more of a sleeper than the GN. Most people don't know that they were the fastest American made car at the time. Faster than the Vette. And yes much quicker than the Iroc which was a 5.7.
cool car. i always liked those do you have a nitrous setup on it? looks real clean.
Nope... No juice on it yet. I'm probably going to hang a little bigger turbo on it first... These cars REALLY respond well to small improvements... |
I was going to ask if that was the stock hair dryer. Gonna go Duttweiler on it's ass are ya? That is a sweet ride Art. Is the car originally from Penn? |

Nice car. Hehehe, the speedo in my '84 fullsize Blazer w/355 motor only goes up to 85, too. I was racing a buddy out of town one night (as Rednecks do) and I passed him at 80mph and proceded to walk away from him for the couple miles to one of the bigger highway's that we were both gonna turn onto. Of course, I beat him, but since the speedo was topped in my Blazer, I called him to see how fast we were going. He told me "well, the rev limiter on my truck goes up to 99 and you were leaving me" That's not bad for something with 4-wheel drive and 31's and the aerodynamics of a brick That's all I have to say WIZZO |

AAAAaaaaaaaaahhhhhhhhhhh
Now I will have nightmares for a week or more..... I work at a Buick dealer and can remember having to work on all of the turds people "suped" up and brought in because they didn't run for poo. (Greatly because they didn't know what they were doing" Looks like a nice 86. At least you have the 86-87 vintage. A lot of people never realised that some of the stock T-types were faster than the GN's out of the box because you could get better gearing in a T-type. What have you done to yours? I see a F/P reg on it. Chip? You said you were going for a better turbo? |
Actually, I already have a Duttweiler hi-flow neck on the inlet side of the intercooler. Yes, It was originally shipped to a dealer in Norristown, PA... (about 30 min from me) I think I'm the 3rd owner of the car. |
I threw it in the EE just to see if I'd get any bites... Got a few emails, but no takers. I'm picking up a bigger turbo for it this weekend... |
Sounds great...I still like your Camaro better... |
