I forgot ARFCOM had a WW'ing section but you guys might be my last hope?
I need a source for Olivewood. I don't need a lot, just enough 4/4 material to make a 12"x12" top but I need it fast for a Christmas present and I've had no luck locally (Cincy OH area) or online. Do any of you know of a good only source that may have what I need in stock and ships fast?
Thanks

You could try contacting Keim Lumber in Charm Ohio. They have a LOT of exotic woods. Even if what you want isn't on the web store I suggest calling them.

Yeah, that's the problem I've been running into. Most place that have olivewood have small blanks for turning. Makes sense I guess as Olive trees generally aren't very big

Yeah I checked there and that was the problem... all anybody seemed to have is small pieces for turning pens or knife scales. I originally wanted some 4/4 and 6/4 material, enough to make a small footstool. Then I figured If I could at least get enough 4/4 material to make the top that would be good enough but no such luck. It's my own fault for waiting until almost the last minute.

Story of my life.
The best way to get 4/4 olive wood is really a glue up. If you buy 50% more than you need you can match the grain up in a way where it isn't as noticeable.
Clark's in Houston lists it but you'll have to call them to see what they have in stock, price, and whether or not they'll ship.
