The Dune 2 physical media is available for pre-order.
The streamers are able to release it now. They do that to kill physical media. Physical media is superior, please don't fall into their trap. Just wait and pre-order DVD, blu ray, or 4K blu ray. https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0CW3DTWNG?tag=arfcom00-20 |

I already bought it on Amazon Prime. I don't have room for physical media.

I bought it on Prime last night.
While I agree that physical media is the better option, I nonetheless tend to go with the easier choice and purchase digital media. Go figure. |

I was going to rent it, but they want $25, fuck that. It'll be out on HBO soon enough.

I'd buy it if they bothered to make it 3D, but they didn't. No sale.

Bought it on Prime day it came out. Have watched it every night since. Mother of God, what a movie.

I've started buying discs again. Cancelled all streaming bullshit.
Got the 4k Dune 2 on pre-order. The 4k discs look so much better than anything streaming has to offer on my 4k Sony TV. Got nice sound system too but have resisted adding the Dolby Atmos extra speakers yet. Might do that for this release. |
|
Quoted: I'll probably order it. Just finished part 1 this evening. View Quote Quoted: Same. Preordered the same day it was announced. Would love to see a nice box set with both 4K discs and a nice copy of the book. View Quote Quoted: I've started buying discs again. Cancelled all streaming bullshit. Got the 4k Dune 2 on pre-order. One thing that sucks now with physical disks... I've been binge watching Stargate SG1/Atlantis and the latest blu ray release has had 3 delaminated disks so far that won't play. I have old DVD copies I have substituted but the quality loss is annoying.
There is no quality control anymore. Hard to verify within 30 days when the Stargate blu-ray set has over 100 disks in it. Past the time to return. |

I haven’t seen it yet. Worth it to buy? Last movie I bought was maverick and feel it was worth it.

I preordered the 4K Bluray. But it's going on my NAS as soon as it comes in.

Although I'm only 1/2 way through Part 2 at the moment, unless they managed to really fuck up in the second half, I like it better than Part 1. I say, yes, absolutely. Buy it now, in whatever media is your choice. |

Ordered! I have a 4K TV (and PS5 to play the discs), but “only” have 5.1 audio… don’t quite have the space to upgrade at present.

I have 5.2 (multiple subs should be a priority over more channels, IMO). I have had the additional channels in the past but did not find that they add enough to justify the trouble or expense, especially in imperfect rooms in a typical house, and even considering the "room correction" software available. If I had a dedicated, properly built home theater room, then I would go all out on additional channels. |

Thanks for the heads up - I just pre-ordered the 4k disk.
Now I need to figure out which player I want to get since I recently realized that the PS5 doesn't do Dolby Vision. And maybe I need to order one of those Klipsch RP subwoofers so my system will dig just a touch deeper, although I'm pretty happy with the overall response of my 5.1.4 system. Oh, and I need to work on acoustic treatments for the basement as well. Thanks for costing me a bunch of money... |

Where do you play dvd’s?
I preordered it on iTunes a wile back, think I’ve been getting notifications it’s ready for download |
|
I'll wait for the box set of the extended editions, like with the LOTR.

4k disk locked in, gonna look great on my new Lg C3 77" OLED and new 9.2.2 Dolby Atmos audio setup

I find it hilarious that it leaked weeks before it was available for streaming.

Physical media?
Converted all of my physical to a NAS with full backups. 6TB and growing |

Quoted: Is the delamination obvious? I have a couple blu-ray movies that look perfectly fine, but won't play on any of my BR consoles....or hang up at the same point. View Quote Yes on the new Stargate discs it is very obvious which ones were not mastered correctly. Attached File Not my picture but this is what bad discs look like. Could be shipping damage or they just weren't made correctly in the first place. |

D1 was 4K and BR in one package, but D2 is only available one or the other?

View Quote Some are phenomenal companies and treat the movies or shows like they're gold and their releases are amazing, but others just don't care. Mill Creek is infamous for this. My Magnum PI Box Set has a few episodes that won't play through, for example. They're just a shitty company, but it's the only way to get that show on Blu-ray. I'm not sure who put out the SG-1 Box set? |
