Goatboy,
Any chance you could set up a pre-order now for us mere mortals that want in on this?
Or should we just stay tuned and hope we get in on time when they become available?

We lifers didn't buy them all up. We saved some for you guys, not many, but some.    Plus the second batch has been ordered.

Paper work is in place, all the i's have been dotted, all "T' have crossed, perproduction samples approved, so the wait will be quick as compaired to the lifers.

We waited 2 yeasr for these to come to life, the other members won't wait hardly as long.

My #48 is in hand. Sure is nice. My first stripped lower.

Nice....but as another poster mentioned, theres no "fffffuuuuuuuuu" position on the selector switch!

When these are produced, mark me down for two.

That would in fact be awesome.  Needs the logo to follow the theme (though they should put ffffffuuuuuu in smaller letters underneath it )

Don't post "the" link.

So when would these be available for the common folk to buy?  I know us "serfs" are getting restless.

I don't want to give any inaccurate or incorrect info, really only certain Staff/Administrators can provide authoritative details.  What follows is only my understanding of the matter...

The first batch took a long time to get in and were offered first to Lifetime members and Staff.  Another batch has already been ordered and Mods will get a turn.  There are plans to make these available to everyone but the timeline is unknown.

I'd be willing to bet that the "serfs" will wait much less time than the lifetime members did.  Some of the LT members have been waiting for literally years. So being a "serf" isn't really so bad

Long time indeed. The original post that I responded to with interest was Posted: 4/23/2008 6:53:25 AM EST

I didn't even notice the thread until page 7 and Posted: 5/31/2009 6:53:46 PM EST

I swear I thought I indicated interest earlier than last year, but apparently not. When I saw the date of the original posts, I figured it wasn't happening. I am happy that it has. I have thought about getting the right side engraved with the lifetime 4 stars logo to match. That side is kind of plain already, it almost needs something. Now I have my waiting period and should be picking it up next week. Got to get my LPK ordered soon.

White Crayon

ETA: More detail. Once I got it all filled it I used a rag to wipe the excess away. You have to rub hard. Once you get most if it off use your favorite oil to clean it the rest of the way.

Engraved right side was exacty what I thought it needed too. The Lifetime 4 stars is a good idea. . I came into this late in the game but finding out about  these lowers help  push me into going Life .
Where would/are you take/sending your lower for engraving?

That is a dang good idea right there.  Once I get my act together to SBR it I'll probably have all the engraving done in one shot.

I've found after getting the crayon in mostly "right" it also helps to hit it lightly with a heat gun.  Releases any trapped air and helps the wax all even out and fill in any tiny gaps.  Do this on a flat, level surface

We were told that if the link was shared with regular members early that the member who placed an early order would have it cancelled and a refund issued. I guess you just got lucky.

Well to whom ever let me slip thru I appreciate it. And I hope they appreciate that I didnt post the link and share it.

And the thread from April of 2008 was a thread started to ask about an update on the progress on the ar15.com lowers, suggesting that there had been talk of it prior even to that.  I first became aware of it in May 2008 and have been waiting since then.

It's definitely been a long wait - but totally worth it!

Maybe there was a previous thread before the one with the number reservations. I could swear it was before the 4/23/2008 thread. I really thought that I posted interest before 09 because I really thought that it wasn't going to happen after the long wait. I can't wait to pick mine up next week. I'm going two tone FDE.
