BACKGROUND:
Early last year, I found this weird little bump under my knee...it grew and was painful, told my doc--and was diagnosed with bursitis. But it hurt BAD. Doc wouldn't give me pain meds. It grew. Got x-rayed. Looked like a big sac of fluid. Given anti-inflammatory but no pain meds. Pain was ridiculous. Finally got an ortho doc to pull fluid out. Guess what? No fluid. But...from those needle holes grew these giant flesh mushrooms. Doc decides to cut the bursa out. Only..it got worse and while on the operating table, the doc said he was taking biopsies instead and cut the "tumor" in half and left it open to the air making me do wet-to-dry gauze changes for a month until the cancer removal surgery. Long story short, cancer is a "undifferentiated pleomorphic sarcoma" and it moved from my leg to my lungs, where it spread multiple tumors and as of a couple of days ago (2 chemo sessions in) spread to my right ventricle (my heart). I'm upset and waiting for a cardiac MRI in the coming days. Very stressed and lonely every night as my wife (Has been busting her ass caring for me because I can't walk) gets in bed super early and I'm in another room staring at a TV or the ceiling. It's rough brothers...make no mistake. I do want to throw a shout out to some members here who have come to visit and hang out, it means a lot. At any rate...I'll try to get online again when I can. If not, it's been nice knowing and laughing at a lot of you guys. |

I am praying for you. Both my parents had cancer and I saw how attitudes affect outcome. Keep faith.

Damn, dude
I am so sorry. My thoughts and prayers are with you. |

Good luck OP.
My wife was diagnosed with stage 4 lung cancer 12/2016. She was told she was terminal and to work on her bucket list. She beat it and has been in remission for almost 4 years. Fuck cancer. |
|
Godspeed sir, beat that cancer cunt into submission. Also, a reminder I need an annual checkup and start running some labs to see where the hell I'm at.
|

@hawktheslayer - Where you at in VA?
Prayers for you in the meantime. |

That was tough to read. I will pray for you OP.
OP has given a fine lesson to GD. When your ticket gets punched, it's punched. Don't waste a minute. Tell everyone how much they mean to you. |
|
I’m sorry hawktheslayer. You will be in our thoughts and prayers. Fight!!!!
|
|
OP. Cancer hasn’t “claimed” you. That’s bullshit talk. Cancer attacked you.
Fight! |
|
Despite the doomers, every day on this planet is a blessing.
I hope you can fight, and if you can’t fight…I hope you are granted peace. |
|
I've lost three close friends to it, fuck be upon it! And my wife's stepfather is in the ER today with newly DXd mets to his liver and lungs.
Fight that bitch!!!! Will keep praying!!! |

I’m very sorry and feel for you. I am hoping for the best for you and yours.

Find a doctor that will Taylor your cancer treatment to you (not just general chemo) even if you have to travel. Keep the faith stay positive. Have your affairs in order so your wife is not burdened, worst case scenario.
Trust Jesus, death has no sting to brothers and sister in Christ. Prayers. Eta: Lost my FIL to lung cancer 2016. Lost my DaD in September of 23' Dad fought 6 years and several rounds of chemo. (Prostate cancer) |

Chin up HawktheSlayer! My mother was stage 4 with cancer in her lung and spine 2 years ago. She beat it without chemo.

Bloody fookin' hell. Sorry man. I'm sure the treatment will work for you.

Damn sorry to hear that. I'm fighting the fight too, but not near as far down the road. All I can tell you is don't give up.
You may or may not win, but don't concede. Live every day you can to the fullest you are able. Don't let the old man in, make him break down the door! FUCK CANCER! |
|
Best of luck to you. Several close friends of our family are on the same journey
|
