We had to take an oak down.  Oak is perfect for Shiitake mushrooms.  The tags are the strain of mushroom that are inoculated in them.

I thought someone had an extreme case of OCD (or CDO) but then those logs are not all uniform diameters or stacked according to diameter

And Oak wouldn’t really be too good for bowls, at least not ones for food.   Too porous.   Although the tannic acids would help to some extent.
