With hot inflation numbers to prove it, one hacked-off Gen Z American took to TikTok where he detailed a "struggle to survive" and pay for everyday items.
"Can somebody explain to me in crayon-eating terms why I make over three times the federal minimum wage and I cannot afford to live?" the user allegedly named Nic started to say. "And I do not want to hear the, 'Pull yourself up from your bootstraps, work 90 hours a week.' That's not the goal, guys," he continued ranting. "A one-bedroom apartment, $1,800. Two-bedroom apartment, $2,200. Who the f*** can afford that? It is embarrassing to come out and say that it is a struggle to survive right now. But I know so many people are struggling." The current federal minimum wage is $7.25 per hour. Meanwhile, consumer price index data released by the Labor Department on Wednesday showed inflation accelerated in March for the third straight month, keeping prices painfully high for millions of Americans and likely delaying any interest rate cuts by the Federal Reserve. Other parts of the report also pointed to stubborn price pressures within the economy. Core prices, which exclude the more volatile measurements of food and energy, climbed 0.4%, as they did in January and February, for an annual gain of 3.8%. Those figures are also higher than estimates. Housing and gasoline costs were the biggest drivers of inflation last month, accounting for more than half of the total monthly increase. In a more recent TikTok that was posted four days ago, Nic expanded on his initial viral video and said he previously voted in favor of the Republican Party. why wood zoomas do this? |

People are completely unable to understand Cause and Effect when it’s more than 3 months apart. |

Is this the part where GD will pounce on this guy for daring to complain, not pulling himself up by his bootstraps, or getting a better paying job? Is this also the part where GD will have a thread bitching, moaning, and pissing about inflation and how everything is so expensive but refuses to pull themselves up by their bootstraps or get a better paying job?

And it will keep being that way until we either have a major revolt. Or more likely all the whiners find a warm, dark place to curl up and die. |

1) Who did you vote for?
2) Because the government lies to you. |

And of course GD is doing the usual, "no one under the age of 90 ever votes conservative" shtick.

This is a good thing. More Americans need to be "red pilled" that the government is in fact in the process of burying this country. While nobody likes a whiner, he has a point. If you're making $23/hr working 2080 hours a year (40x52), you're clearing probably right at $3k/month after the government, SS, medicare and state take their pieces, if that. If you're in an area where an apartment is $2k, which is almost anywhere, you gotta figure out how to live on $1k/month if you want to have any work/life balance, or you have to decide to work 60+ hours/week instead of 40.
The other message here is, you're gonna have to sacrifice to get out of that ~$20/hr hole and make yourself worth more, and you better pick carefully, because the degree mills out there are busy making bachelors degrees worthless. The only remaining question is, what do these kids take away from all of this. If it's "communism will save us all!" then screw 'em, they get what they get. If it's "crony capitalism and government corruption are killing us", then get on the train kid, let's go to pound town and fix the problem. |

Who is this guy? Is he a professional TikToker?
Maybe he's an underemployed engineer. Anyway, if a single bedroom pad is $1800/mo he's not making a living wage at $21/hr. Maybe he needs a roommate. |

We as conservatives (mostly), need to accept an absolute fact of life.
If you keep fucking the average young adult from being able to own homes or live a modest life with basic necessities with some money to spare - you're going to ultimately end up with a massive push to marxism/socialism and shouldn't be surprised when retards like AOC end up in office. This is how every communist revolution starts. The exploitation of the middle class and robbing them of their opportunity to prosper. We need to fix this immediately. There's a reason why the criminal party keeps growing. They're masters of enslaving the middle and lower class. Capitalism is the best system we have but pseudo banana republics don't last. |

In fairness 3 times the federal minimum wage is about 22 dollars an hour. While that is actually higher than the US median income good luck trying to live a decent life on that in most of the country.

Nic, get off your ass and gain some real job skills. You could also use a course in personal finances. Why are you paying $1800 for a one-bedroom apartment when you could save $1000 and live in a palace with a pool?
