Israel ranks 18th in per capita GDP, the best measure of the relative wealth of a population. That's higher than such economic powerhouses as Germany, France, Great Britain, and Italy. For comparison, the U.S. is 7th. Israel has a border wall and universal healthcare as well. So why do we give them billions every year?

The US Congress is largely "Israeli occupied territory" as Pat Buchanan noted years ago.

Israel is 1/10th of 1% of the land mass that is the Middle East. If we didn’t subsidize Israel, there would be no Israel.
Of course we can always spend our tax money on wokism horseshit and welfare. |

One of the developments of late is that the U.S. recently gave Israel $250M and Israel is going to buy more U.S. F-15's.
I tried a version of that process for a dozen holly bushes at Lowes this weekend but they weren't havin' it. |

Quoted: Loads of intelligence Land for an air force base An ally in a "hot" region A distraction for terrorists View Quote 2. Air Force Base. Have we ever launched a strike from an Israeli base? We didn't get to use it in either Gulf War I or II, but we did get to defend Israel from the SCUDs. 3. An ally in a "hot" region. Isn't the region hot in large part because we defend Israel? 4. A distraction for terrorists. Question. Absent our support for Israel, would these terrorists be targeting us? |

Because they're our best ally in the region and most of the money going to them is coming right back through defense contractors.

Because it supports our military industrial complex. If we didn’t give them money and make them buy our shit with it they’d just build their own shit with their own money.

Supporting Israel is very good for the campaign funds for certain politicians and provides significant income to family and friends of those politicians.
Shut up and pay your taxes. |

Sweep off our own front porch before paying to have others' porches painted. Israel is a first world nation. Why tf are we financing their security. That goes double for countries that hate us. If I was in charge I would tell the Israelis that all cash aid stops. Want help in defense? Find us a patch of Godforsaken desert you aren't using and we'll build an airbase there. Past that, Uncle Sam's wallet is closed. |

Because supporting our strongest ally in the region is in our best geopolitical and national security interests?

AIPAC is thing.
It's not a great thing, but it's a thing. It is disintegrating, so that's interesting, but it is a thing. |
|
Because it's antisemitic if you don't agree with sending them money. Or something.

What countries don't we subsidize?
In 2023, the United States spent nearly $61 billion on foreign aid. Fully half of that budget has gone to just ten countries: Ukraine ($16.4 billion) Israel ($3.3 billion) Ethiopia ($1.95 billion) Jordan ($1.65 billion) Egypt ($1.43 billion) Afghanistan ($1.19 billion) Somalia ($1.13 billion) Yemen ($1.05 billion) Congo ($987 million) Syria ($896 million) The 2024 foreign aid budget was released in February, 2024. Many of these numbers can change—for example, in 2023, just under $775 million was budgeted for Syria. However, the actual disbursements increased by $121 million (in part due to the earthquake that hit Syria and Türkiye). That said, the proposed budget for 2024 is a little over $50 billion, roughly 17% less than 2023, with 20% of that budget requested for just ten countries: Israel ($3.3 billion) Jordan ($1,45 billion) Egypt ($1,43 billion) Ukraine ($774 million) Nigeria ($625 million) Mozambique ($564 million) Uganda ($562 million) Tanzania ($561 million) Kenya ($514 million) Zambia ($507 million) |

Quoted: The number should be zero. We run the most backwards empire in history. We pay everyone for the privilege of protecting everyone. same reason Texas accepts money from the Fed Gov, despite Texans always threatening to leave under some obscure law they cite.
You have to love young states and their moxy though. |

I don't think we should, but the people in charge decided that before I was born.

Look up the number of Representatives and Senators that have dual citizenship with Israel. This will explain many things to you.
Did you pay your taxes by yesterday like a good little goyim? |

Mossad has dirt on almost all of them thanks to Jeffrey Epstein. They own Congress.
We also LOL at Cynthia McKinney. She did say one important thing. On her first day of office AIPAC sent her a fax asking her to pledge her loyalty to Izzy-land. It also said that should she decline, AIPAC would work against her reelection. She thought WTF and refused. They were good on their threat and funded her opponent and got her unseated. |

Originally we gave aid to Egypt and IZ to keep the peace, now it is to benefit the MIC.
IZ does invent some good tech though. |

They're our only reliable ally in the region.
To bad they can't say the same about us. |

It's basically a welfare state that trades money laundering for protection and provides a place for high net worth individuals to have a 2nd home and passport. Basically a religious Luxembourg but with more tech and research. It also solved the UN's sticky problem of where to put effectively stateless Jews nobody wanted after WW2.

They have like, 5 people that live there. Even if each person is rich, there is no way they could afford to develop all the fun terrorist killing stuff without us.
