Popular Georgia beach town overrun by 'Orange Crush' fighting, chaos, video shows
Tens of thousands of co-ed students and alum historically Black colleges and universities flocked to the three-mile island. Georgia's Tybee Island was packed with co-ed party seekers during the annual Orange Crush Festival, where videos of wild brawls went viral on social media. Several women were seen throwing haymakers, ripping hair extensions off and wrestling on the pier as their tops fell off in a video shared with Fox News Digital. Hoards of onlookers egged on the fighters while recording the melees. The two-plus minute video also caught glimpses of piles of litter scattered along the beach and women twerking. Tybee Island police said they're still sorting through voluminous records from the past week and will update their weekly incident report and arrests. |

WTOC is waiting on final numbers as far as how many people came to the island but by many accounts, things went much more smoothly this year than they did last year. |

My buddy lives there, said last year was WAY worst. Said this year they had a million cops there to help.
I need to visit him one year when it occurs, I'm sure it's very vibrant and enriching. |

Meh.
Just some future brain surgeons blowing off some steam. Studying brain surgery is stressful. Can’t blame them. |

Well, when you arrest a cute woman for having an orgasm on the beach, these are consequences.

If you like dive bar beach towns, you’ll have a good time. I wouldnt be anywhere near it during spring break though. |

And they wonder why they have been pushed out of every other place they used to hold spring break

We went to Tybee Island three or four years ago just to check out. We thought the place was a dump.

What a bunch of crap. These people ruin everything and every place they go. I was stationed at Hunter and use to go to Tybee Island all the damn time. Nice quite place. Had a few bars, nice beach not crowded. No fights in the street. Got laid several times on the beach at night. This was in the 80s
Holy crap they have destroyed that island. Watched video and it was nothing like it is now. It was a very small community with houses. There was not all of those hotel and resorts when I was there. damn developers ruin every damn thing. So sad to see it that way now. I use to want to go back there and visit, not now. Just another over crowded shithole. |

We stopped going to Tybee a few years ago because it had turned into an overcrowded mess any time from spring break to late summer. Not surprised to hear this.

I don't have to watch the video to know who is causing what. It's all so tiresome.
