Collectively I view PA gun shops and show vendors as the biggest bunch of shysters/crooks in the gun community.
I swear I think some of their over-priced shit have been in the shops for generations.....Never fear though, they make sure they increase the price by $100.00 every year. |

PA has some good gun laws, but some damn stupid ones too (blackpowder must be flintlock, no hunting with semi-autos, Philly not allowing CCW). There are plenty of other states with better gun laws. |

PA has had pre-emption for a long time. Now we can sue municipalities that don't follow it. Philly allows CCW with a permit. Two black powder seasons. Fall season anything goes. Late season...flintlock only. |

Except for a few crappy issues we are one of the top gun friendly states in the east. We have one of if not the strongest premption laws in the country. Philly will always pass/attempt to pass laws which go against it, but they are struck down. Blackpowder must be flintlock: Not true you can use Modern muzzle loaders including inlines during the fall muzzle loader season. We also have a separate flintlock only season in the winter. No semi-autos for hunting. This one unfortunately is true. They introduce a bill to change it almost every year but the Fudds strike it down. Philly not allowing CCW: Not true, they used to be a hassle to issue a permit, but settled a lawsuit in 2014 and are inline with the rest of the state now. Prince Blog Other good laws: Virtually no (non-federal) places off limits with a LTCF. Government building off limits must supply lockers at the entrance. LTCF, is good for handguns, and most NFA items. We can carry an SBS, SBR, AOW, or a machinegun that meets the SBR/AOW size restrictions. No restrictions on hunting with suppressors. For car carry, any carry permit is valid, not just those we have reciprocity with. There is no worry about travelers getting in trouble for having a gun in the car. Open Carry is legal without a permit. (Must have a carry permit in Philly for Open or Concealed). Our permits are also inexpensive and easy to get. No training or fingerprint requirements, and the permit is $20 for 5 years. Only $4 per year. How are those laws in Maryland treating you? |

I like driving into Pitts way more than driving into Philly on the sure-kill though. Also edit to add: Sunday Hunting - Should be allowed, landowner discretion. Semi-auto for hunting - I am gonna go with keep it illegal on this one, at least for big game. In deer season if a drive is happening, it is all the kids who are watchers and they shoot at fucking EVERYTHING that moves. Empty their guns over and over again every single drive. I would never advocate putting a 30 round mag in their hands as a good idea - or for anyone who sprays and prays in big game seasons when there are 700,000+ other people in the woods. |

I like driving into Pitts way more than driving into Philly on the sure-kill though. Someone on here covered it in another thread but it seems like PA and definitely around Pittsburgh people had goat paths and wagon trails and said you know what, let's just freaking pave it and call it a road! Topography really dictates traffic and then some. That's another reason if you're not from the area maps and a good GPS are quite important; nothing in the Pittsburgh area runs simply north, east, south, and west. Everything is winding around a river, a hill, a valley, a cliff, or all of the above. I do far better with a point of reference on a hill than following other means and find flat land hard to navigate which seems really odd. |
