So I tried this over in the handgun forum and the thought was no but I thought I see what everyone over here thought.

Here is what the people that drew it think it is

as you can see the barrel is in line with the bottom chamber.  The animators say its made by Colt.  any way its just a cartoon and this is for fun.

Trigun is pretty cool, but the guns not real.  Of course I'd rather have the priests cross.

you really do watch too many Japanese cartoons.

lay off and step into reality.

as far as i know....no.

those screws would indicate an animated airsoft gun. they are popular in japan.

You could accualy make Wolfwood's cross but it'd be a tad heavy.

It's based on a Mateba semi-auto revolver

(you also see one in Ghost in the Shell - I guess it's popular in japanimation)

That's a thought Air soft might make something similar or in fact have permision from the animation studio to make an exact replica.

oh yeah like any of the movies and tv shows are reality

Top break revolver patterned on a Schofield, but with a bottom barrel and chambered in 45lc.

Nothing like that in production and if someone makes one I don't want to be within a mile of them when they fire a 325 gr. L.B.T.- L.F.N. (1325 fps / M.E. 1267 ft. lbs.) load in it.

KABOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOM!!

In the show the hood on the top of the barrel flips off when Vashes arm and gun moph into a superweapon.  Obviouly I don't think a real gun would do this but the hood could be used for other purposes.

My friend and I were talkin after the con and dicided that all the staff members needed boken(wooden katana sword) to fend off the crazy cosplayers(people that dress up as anime characters) for the next con.

Because there arn't any fat guys in the live action.  I tried not to pay any atension during it so I didn't notice who was in the audience

Yes that is a DDR pad.  We had 4 and a competion with prizes.  I was maning the game room when I took that pic.

Wow that Mateba model 6 is the closest this I've seen anyone say.

I'm going to have to see one in real life.  Got any sugestions one stores that would have them in stock....is it an antic or would a wally world have it?

Anime is for fags. You know, the Japanese have never been quite the same since The Bomb.

I thought we'd already beat this one to death over on the handgun forum but here we are again. I'm going to say it once more, NO, NO,NO, it's not the Schofield style latch up, it's the earlier Modle 3 style latch up. The Schofield has the latch on the frame, this gun has the latch on the barrel, like a Model 3. Compare the pics.

Notice how in pic 1 the locking latch is on the barrel/cylinder part of the gun and NOT the frame.

why would anyone want one of those Matebas? It seems to me that whoever designed it put the worst drawbacks of pistols and revolvers into one gun: the slow reload of the revolver, and the mechanical intricacies (i.e. greater malfunction rate) of the auto.

Yeah, you might call it an antic, but it's not an antique.  They're obscure - don't bother with Wally World.

CDNN is selling them for $600 in 44 mag. They are in CDNN catalog 2004-2 on page 15.

Try CDNN - download their catalog.

Your friendly local dealer should be able to order you one from CDNN, if for some reason you should really want one.  I tell, ya, I bet that would scare the other kids at the cartoon club meetings!

Next time you have to be at some anime thing you should dress up in tactical gear with some fake guns that have the orange removed.

Then when some kid asks what anime character your supposed to be just give them a puzzled look and say "WTF is anime" and then slap the bolt closed on your fake mp5.
