Some folks still haven't learned the lesson about optics on carbines yet. Once they do, they'll come around to pistol optics. It isn't even really that new, competition guys have been doing this for a while. The secret is just out, gun manufacturers are supporting it, the public wants it, optic companys are making em, and more holsters are optic ready.

  Actual RDS user convention.  Learned to use a front sight you fucking hipsters.  And this is like the third thread this week alone on the subject. Can’t wait till the real party starts in here and Fanny purses start flying. |

It’s all pretty silly. If you can’t draw and shoot c zone steel from concealment sub 1.5 second at 10 yards and in and get hits 99% of the time you’re not training enough.
If you did do that you’d know it has less to do with optics and more to do with grip and target focus anyway and irons vs red dot doesn’t really matter. I prefer the dot because it allows me to be faster and more precise past 10 yards- specifically making my pistol an effective fighting tool out to 50 yards easily. But hey, what ever. Do what you like. |
