ILL and I will be making a roadtrip North this weekend to pick up a fishtank.
(Yeah, a fishtank...how dumb is that?) If anyone between Texas and Indiana wants to invite a couple of quasi-stupid Texans over for a beer, or a place to snack on a Labor Day Weekend BBQ we're in town (or passing through) We should be leaving tomorrow (Friday, Sept 3rd, @ noon from Dallas) and will plan to be in Indiana around 3-4am Saturday morning. Our schedule is open, so let us know if you have something along the route that we should stop and see (like a cooler full of beer and a smoker full of BBQ ) If not, then don't tell me I didn't WARN you that the Texas Pride Roadtour was in your neighborhood and we did not stop by... TRG PS. Team Members, don't forget to see what it *really* takes to satisfy TexRdNec ar15.com/forums/topic.html?b=1&f=75&t=270165 PPS. ILL is driving and has NEVER even left the State of Texas, so if you need/want us to stop by, please post directions in phonics for that dumb SOB. |

What the hell? |
Dude that must be the mother of all fishtanks??? |
Post a link to your travel route (think expedia) so we can

What he told me is that tank is 1 hour north of Indianapolis. We should be passing close to the speedway. I don't know much more than that, except he's buying the beer. TRG |
What RG is really saying: Hide your farm animals or they could get violated!!!
Just kidding RG...no photoshop please. |
Jim Beam is my copilot. I am not driving so I am not sure what route we are taking. Once ILL gets finished with whatever man he's with tonight, I'll ask him to post our route. TRG |
Well, stop on by! We are just west of Indy and located right off of I-70 if you will be coming in that way.
If you get lost and about say 3-400 miles west then stop by. |
Ahh I'm further north than that, about 3 hours notrh od Indy, and a guy near here builds some of the most spectacular acrylic tanks you could imagine. All top shelf custom stuff. Mike |
Smoker isn't going until Sunday, but if you are coming thru IN via Evansville, there'll be plenty of beer and Bourbon around my
On second thought house sounds better than parts if the rumors about you two are true! P.S. Terre Haute has one of the largest indoor saltwater aqauriums in the midwest, maybe the nation. Lots of exotic fish, and live coral reefs and such. |
If ya needa stop and take a piss in western IL I got 7 acres.... I reckon that oughta be 'nuff
Its a 240 gallon fish tank. Its 7 feet long! 400 lbs. A complete setup would run around $2000 or more. I got this on an auction for only $560. Tank, stand, 3 filters, lights and 30 cichlids. The filters alone are worth the $560. So I will end up spending $1000 with gas. Heading up I-44 to 70 into Indianapolis then north on hwy 69. Or we will come up I-57 to I-70. |
Stop off at the Plainfield exit on I-70 and we'll treat you to a mimosa or something queer like that.
Personally, I prefer a white wine spritzer. BTW, he mentioned we are coming up HWY 69.. Paging Dr. Freud...Paging Dr. Freud..Code Blue... TRG |
I don't think I can even respond to that. |
Oh, man. You two have got to stop at my town. Would love to meet you two homos who just decide to come out of the closet. Fishtank, huh? This fishtank is better be able to clean itself, feed the fish, change the water weekly. |
I happen to know it's not a fish tank, but a 240 gallon bong!
I mean, who in their right mind would go all that way for a fishbowl, unless it was a 'very special' fishbowl! Eric The(LaidBackLenny)Hun |
Clearly a veiled attempt to smuggle narcotics from the Mx border north. I'll be alerting the appropriate drug interdiction agencies. You'll be in the Trooper, right?
EDIT: Damnit Eric, you're stealing thunder! |
Nope, a uhaul truck. |
TRG, better check to see if ILL will be bringing a .45 and a shovel! |
What did he say? Chris |
Awright, ya fuckers...IM me for phone #...you have to stop in for a beer or something. If you're only going an hour north of Indy you're gonna need to come by this way...
Let me know what time you'll be passing through so I can pull you over and write a few tickets
Just kidding! That would be the only way to meet you guys since I have to work all weekend. Just make sure you don't get in an accident on the north side of Indy. I really hate accident reports |
You should give us your number so we can call you to get us out of a speeding ticket! |
I went from Shreveport, La to just NW of Dallas via I-20
Then took I-35 up through Oklahoma City, then up to Wichita/El Dorado. Where I stayed over night. The next day I took I-35 up to Kansas City, where I got on I-70. Took I-70 from KC to St Louis, over to Terre Haute, and up to Indy. Took I-69 up to Fort Wayne. Then home. If you start from Dallas and only go as far as Indionapolis, it should take you around 13-16hrs. From my driveway to El Dorado, Kansas, it is 825 miles to NW Ohio, done in 13.5hrs. Have fun, hope this helps. |
Just for information, the NHRA U.S. Nationsal are in town this weekend. Motel rooms are scarce but gas is still reasonable. I saw unleaded regular today for $1.63.9.
Edited to add: Gas was up to $187.9 today. The Nationals have no doubt driven the price up. Avoid the northwest side if you can. |
All right! Lets get organized. Crawfordsville road exit, Union Jacks in Speedway? Or wait, your hood may be better due to traffic there? Regardless, QS has my cell#. Don't forget Ribfest is all weekend downtown. Free bands/shows. PS, my guess drive 1000 miles to get a tank and 1 hour north of Indy? I say you are going near Purdue? |
fort wayne- I have an uncle there- he likes fish tanks...I wonder.....
fish tank (broken in transit) $560
tanks repairs $273 gas $440 food $12 booze $318 speeding citation $168 bail (iil gross sexual imposition charge dismissed) $225 cost of road trip: $1996 savings $4 |
the way you guys navigate let me know when you come through alabama on the way there.
PSSTT!!! Rumor has it that they are really having a race against 2 lesbians. It is being said that TRG & ILL will deffinatly lose the race though. It seems that the girls will be going lickety split, and the guys will just be poke assing around! |
Since I am driving, we will not get lost. |
I have QuietShootr's number so you guys get in contect with him since we will be on the road.
Lets try and meet on the north side of Indianapolis Saturday afternoon. I will have to be mindful of the time since I am bringing back 30 fish with the tank. I have a 30 gallon cooler that will have filters and airpumps running so they should be fine. I have done this before when I moved to New York a few years ago. |
Drive slow so we don't spill the bong water. TRG |
Nice mullet Gay-More. |
DAMN... if I didn't already have commitments to put out signs for election campaigning, I'd have to roll over there. It's only an hour.
Crappo. |
You can make it, we will meet later in the afternoon! Come on Ben! try and meet up with us! |
Hope there are no big bump along the road. Don't want the fish to do somersault in the back of the U-haul. |
Always in good fun! |
You people are not paying attention. They are not driving from Texas to Indiana. They are driving a U-HAUL from Texas to Indiana!!!!! All this just to kill 30 fish. I thought some of my fishing buddies were crazy, but you guys...... Wow, just Wow.
You guys should be coming through Arkadelphia, AR before I get off work this PM or I'd offer ya some Boulevard wheat beer. Maybe next time.
