18 months ago i paid a member here 1200.00 to build me an off the rack m1a. I went through him as i thought i was doing a friend a favor by tossing my business his way. 1 yr or so later he was deployed in the military. He had a full 12 months prior to build my rifle.

I have been trying for 3-4 months to contact him. I have his .mil email address and cell phone number. I have left several voice mails and sent MANY emails trying to get this resolved. I have been in touch with his wife and confirmed that he KNOWS i am looking for him. I have also confirmend he has logged onto arfcom over the last few months so i am certain he has recieved at least a few messages from me.

This individual has outright lied to me on several occasions regarding not being able to get a reciever for the build. I was even told 2 months ago by his wife he was picking up a rifle to send to me. ZERO contact since. His wife has asked him to contact me and at this point i have to beleive he is avoiding me.

The saddest thing of all is this individual is a STAFF member here and someone i had hoped to consider a friend.

I HOPE HE SEES THIS MESSAGE AND CONTACTS ME BEFORE I HAVE TO FILE IN COURT. YOU KNOW WHO YOU ARE, PLEASE LETS WORK THIS OUT. I AM NOT A HARD PERSON TO DEAL WITH.

Small claims court or even civil court. Bidness is bidness. You have gone the extra mile and bent over backwards bro. No one could fault you for getting all legal on his ass. IMHO

in hopes that the individual will possibly make this right i am not naming names right away. I will be filing in court sometime after the 20th if this is not resolved. At that point the Name will be rolling.

When dealing with custom things or things that have to be built, put down a deposit and pay the rest upon delivery.

Had i not considered this person a friend that is what i would have done. This was NOT a custom job. Just a basic shootable M1a build. NO custom work just assembling a kit.

Sorry to hear about this The_Beer_Slayer, but IF the person you are talking about is a Staff member, maybe you can use that fact to bring some small amount of pressure to bear on him or her from this site!

Isn't anyone willing to speak up and tell this Staff member that he or she needs to get his or her poop in a group and get your rifle finished?

That would seem a rather easy thing to have happen!

I just saw this post of yours!

I would NOT file a small claims case against this guy or girl UNTIL I had presented the entire matter to the whole Board. Name names, in other words to see if justice can be reached without the need for a lawsuit!

Lawsuits suck! Trust me, I know that all too well!

from what i am hearing he will be out soon. My suit will be filed and awaiting his release. My next step will also include contacting his chain of command. When i was active duty the Army severely frowned on NCO's involved with fraud and theft.

Beer slayer you must remember that no good deed goes unpunished. I am an electrical contractor and let me tell you I am familiar with your problem. It really hurts when friends screw you. Overall most of those that have got to me were good customers that I had confidence in.

he is no longer an advertiser. And i really don't care what his status on the board is. The fact the he is a staff member should make him at least somewhat trustworthy and responsible. So far i have seen neither.

This needs to be resolved immediately, and I don't think that you should be the one scrambling around to find Lew Tippie ~ he should be busting his azz to find you and give you the money back or the completed weapon!
