44 hours. I was expecting a longer wait time as this is my first NFA purchase. Hell, it usually takes a couple days for a CC transaction to show up in my account.
Apparently the Gubmint gets to use the fast lane. My FFL said I just set the shop speed record.

Good for you OP, but i can't shake the feeling that it's some kind of set up.

ETA: These fast approvals really make no sense given that flack Dettlebach's all-out assault on our exercise of 2A rights.

It's crossed my mind. But every AR I've bought was with a 4473, so they know me already.

14 hours!

ETA- I just got a Lahar 30K.

I agree with you there.

NFA registration is, in fact, registration.  And that has been their goal for a long, long time.

So, I cant help but wonder if this is a ploy to get people to register their weapons.

If we get Biden part 2 I guarantee they’ll point to this as a reasonable way to register “assault weapons”. I guarantee there’s some underlying motive along these lines. The process was the punishment and the long wait certainly seemed intentional for many many years.

I hate all of these people!

I have 3 items in NFA jail, one for 6 months, 2 for 6 weeks.

Yeah yeah, they’re in a trust, but dammit, other than the copy of the trust paperwork, it’s the exact same damn process and information!

Plus the trust has been approved several times already.

A friend down the street just had 4 suppressors approved in 4 days.

This is bullshit.

LOL...I had one for 14 months before they withdrew it because "this MAY* cause a rejection, fix and resubmit." Now waiting again, fuck the king.
*the lady on the phone at BATFE told me she could get it approved as is but the stupid company STILL filed for withdrawal.

Several things are at play here.

On is electronic vs paper. One needs physical research the other is a click and a click and an approve.

The other is congress threatened AFT  with serious budget cuts (beyond what has already been cut) if they didn't get there shit together.

Surprise, surprise, they somehow got "some" of their shit together.

Trusts are worthless as everyone has to be fingerprinted for a trust if they are to be part of the NFA stamp.

Non trust relative get a one time freebee no wait transfer of NFA items if the stamp holder dies.

Trusts are irrelevant now unless you want someone to play with your NFA items without you present.

Congress did good then.

I did three on individual just to get them.

Will transfer to my trust later.

It is worth the extra cost just to get the things in hand and not have to wait a year again.

Went to a LGS yesterday and two today to check stock and see if there was anything I really wanted.

First two stores were picked over and didn’t anticipate getting any orders in soon.

Third store had a good many options including some newer releases.

Grabbed a DA Nomad L to see if I can break my 6 month Form 4 personal best.

It is. It's just datapoints for future challenges so they can say, "See, we won't use registration as a means to delay and deter". All the while ignoring the last several decades.

I bought this one without a trust. My buddy has a trust of which I am a trustee. I didn't have all the details so I just went individual with the thought that I'll just add it to the trust later.
Much to my chagrine, It's another $200 to add my own property to a trust I'm included in.
I guess this one stays out of the trust.
What a convoluted bunch of BS.

If you did individual and you're still waiting, then it's either in NICS backlog or your NICS check is delayed. Individuals are practically automated going straight to background checks after receipt. I would contact NICS about your status if I were you.

well they video and take pictures of form 4473's at the gun stores, even though its not legal. So not much difference other than paying them and asking for permission.
