Surge of Baghdad Violence Leaves 60 Dead By ROBERT H. REID BAGHDAD, Iraq (AP) - Insurgents hammered central Baghdad on Sunday with one of their most intense mortar and rocket barrages ever in the heart of the capital, heralding a day of violence that killed nearly 60 people nationwide as security appeared to spiral out of control. At least 37 people were killed in Baghdad alone. Many of them died when a U.S. helicopter fired on a disabled U.S. Bradley fighting vehicle as Iraqis swarmed around it, cheering, throwing stones and waving the black and yellow sunburst banner of Iraq's most-feared terror organization. Hope the guys from the Bradley are ok,but NICE SHOOTING! I am getting a lot of pleasure thinking about this. Not to pc I guess |
Yeah I haven't heard anything about the condition of the crew, but it puts a huge smile on my face to know that the helo waited until there was a crowd around the vehicle before firing.
allah must be running out of virgins. |
When I heard this on Fox News this morning, they said it was to prevent the crowd from looting the weapons left behind. What weapons would the troops have left on the Bradley?
Anyway, nice shooting. Baited traps are fine with me.... fullclip |
Of course, CNN is reporting that everybody was just pounding on the hull of the Bradley with metal pipes and that no combatants were in the area. Hmmm......
I wonder how that Bradley became "disabled" in the first place? |
Coaxial guns maybe? |
Let's see:
Angry, irrational Iraqi terrorist sympathizers Sticks Pipes Rocks Yep, sounds like a legitimate target to me. About fucking time! Think we offended anyone? |

About damn time! A couple more instances of this and bet the Iraqis learn to stay away from disabled US vehicles really fast.
They're not that smart. |

Aren't those boxes filled with stuff you probably wouldn't want to touch??
TOW missiles & box launcher... 25mm APFDS M240 coax And maybe some extra gear (rocket launchers, mortar, etc)... |
No, we're strong enough that it doesn't matter... |
good!
they need to kill many, many more. many more. a whole lot more. |
You are wrong… These pictures of them dancing by the disabled Bradly are all over the Arab media as an example of how the 'heroic' iraqis are defeating the infidel americans… Image is everything in the Arab world… Andy |

will not happen.. the guy that takes him out will be charged with murder.. since the dead guy was RELOADING and therfore NOT a threat at the time.. sad isnt it?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?! |
It's about time.
If I was in charge, the Tangos would run from a disabled vehicle or aircraft like it was a ticking bomb. Because it would be. |
Anyone remember the scene in BHD when the Dboys return to one of the downed helos and tell the kids "this is mine."

Looks like somebody dropped their flag.

As sad as that sight is, our nation owes its full resources to making certain that OUR young men in those Bradleys return home from their mission safe and sound.
If that means that some Iraqi children die in the process of learning the lesson that terrorism is a dangerous game to play, then, so be it! The parents are to blame for the actions of the children that the parents have neither prevented nor discouraged! Maybe this tragedy will convince ALL Iraqi parents to teach their children this very good lesson: When the bullets begin to fly....GO HOME! Eric The(Irritated)Hun |
I stand corrected.
The news media is calling them civilian casualties. Anyone dancing in the streets around burning American vehicles IS NOT a civilian IMHO... |
"The dead from the helicopter strike included Arab television reporter Mazen al-Tumeizi, who screamed, “I’m dying, I’m dying!” as a cameraman recorded the chaotic scene. An Iraqi cameraman working for the Reuters news agency and an Iraqi freelance photographer for Getty Images were wounded. "
www.msnbc.msn.com/id/5949556/ Those reporters sure were fast on the scene. |
Well said. +1 |
That was My take on it when I first heard about it. How is it that they "Just happend to be in the area" when this went down????? Get to close to the fire...You get burned. Tall Shadow |

"The dead from the helicopter strike included Arab television reporter Mazen al-Tumeizi, who screamed, “I’m dying, I’m dying!”
you got that right, mr. palestinian. next! |
Yea, I was just gonna say , I'd like to see the camera footage from both the helo and the camera man that thought it was too imprtant to shoot the film instead of helping his reporter, HA HA. Maybe they will learn travel with terrorists , die like terrorists! Notice on the MSNBC site that they have a window that says "1000 dead. Grim milestone. SLIDE SHOW!!! " Like it's entertainment or something. Bastards!!!!!!!

No weapons -> Not a military target, the news is TECHNICALLY right on that one. However, in this case, they were standing on a military target -> casualty of war... Helicopters are not quiet, and when the thing showed up & lined up on that Bradley, they should have started running... Unlike some of you, I don't revel in seeing folks blown up just because they were demonstrating against us, but the Bradley had to be destroyed to prevent capture of weapons or technology... Now, if we start blasting peaceful demonstrations just because we don't agree with them, then we do get into the point of losing the war (freedom of speech, fredom of protest, just only if you say/protest what we want you to??)... We are not an imperial power over there, but if we start acting like one then we will be viewed as one by the entire country, not just the badguys.... Once again, we're back to this: Either you're fore the 'sensitive' mission, or you should be calling for a withdrawal. There is no other purpose to US troops being in Iraq, and never will be. The Govt hasn't bought your world-wide-holy-war... Obviously, I don't either.... And before someone brihgs it up, if they were beating an American with pipes, then by all means light 'em up... |
They've got to be running out of virgins by now.
---- Added... I didn't see how long it was from when the Bradley was disabled to when the reporters/mob showed up. |
Damn...anyone got the video??? |
Well, all of them want their 70 virgins and to visit Allah, so what is wrong with us speeding up their journey?? Kill 'em all!!
That is why it is called "Death from above".Such is the will of Allah.
Marching outside the RNC and disrupting it just about cross's the line of "demonstrating", but it is considered demonstration nonetheless. The I-hate-America arabs aren't "demonstrating", they're the one's reveling in the destruction of our equipment and troops. That attitude alone causes me to say "Oh well." in the sight of their causilities. If you saw one of those fvckers jumping and dancing over your body before you slipped off into the black, would you feel contempt for them or love and hugs? Yeah I know, who knows what we'd really be thinking as we die, but given the choice now, what would you say? |
Its not a sad sight. |
