From La Repubblica, one of the national newpapers:

L'Italia invierà due Hercules carichi di aiuti
Pronti a decollare per gli Stati Uniti due Hercules C 130 dell'Aeronautica Militare, carichi di idrovore, generatori di energia elettrica, mezzi anfibi, tende e tecnici specializzati nella logistica e nella assistenza agli sfollati. Il Capo del Dipartimento della Protezione civile Guido Bertolaso ha contattato l'omologo direttore della FEMA per definire i possibili aspetti tecnici dell'operazione.

Translation:

Italy will send two Hercules loaded with aids.
Ready to take off to United States two C130 Hercules of Air Force (AMI), loaded with waterpumps, electric power generators, amphibious veichles, tents and specialized technicians in logistic and support for refugee. The Chief of the Civil Protection Guido Bertolaso contacted the FEMA director to define technical aspects of the operation.

Just our .2 cents to help USA from Italy...

Two Herks.

It is a start, at least. I hope others follow.

FNC said that America has to ask for help before we get it? Tru?

Italy will send two Hercules loaded with aids.

I'd rather they bring AID, not AIDS. We got enough of that disease over here now!

Just kidding with ya man. Glad to have the support. I'm sure all of those people down there who are homeless will appreciate it, at least those that aren't running amuck, looting, shooting at helicopters, hijacking disaster relief trucks, raping people in shelters, fighting with rival gangs, setting fires, etc.

Since I can't go to your country, please tell them we in America say a big THANK YOU! My wife asked me last night if any countries had offered to send aid. I told her there was a line a mile long .

I'll tell her today that there IS a line a mile long, and it is called Italy . Thanks again to you and your country.

Thanks. I gues you guys have a little experience with the refugee thing. I've seen the TV shots of some earthquakes and volcanoes you've dealt with.

Thanks.

I mean, really, really big thanks.

I was starting to wonder if anybody out there cared.  I read some nasty comments coming out of Germany.

I hope one day to visit Italy and spend some tourist $$$ there.

That's great news, i knew it.  Grazie, grazie, grazie Italia!!!!!!!

I was just mentioning to my wife last night that i wanted to see how many countries were going to help us out.  I told her that Italy & the UK would help us for sure, but i'm not sure that anyone else will as most would love to see us suffer.

Perhaps they could send troops.  Even Italian soldiers would be more full of fight than the NOPD.

If they send a quote of my regiment (1.st Rgt. Parachute Regiment of  the Gendarmerie) or even the 9th Paracommando, they can beat the shit out of ANY enemy.

1st. Parachute Regiment of Gendarmerie is the recruitment unit for our antiterror unit GIS.
The 9th Paracommando, alongside the GOI Italian Navy paracommando unit, is the highest training commando unit of our Army.

Both of them trains with SAS...
